Luo Liyan gripped the large hand that Su Xun had used to cover her eyes and slowly moved it aside. She observed his expression which had gone from the end of the world to one of confusion.
"Is everything ZZ exposed true? Did you really do all those things because of me?"
Although she had known about these things for a while, Su Xun didn't so she decided to feign surprise to avoid revealing the truth too soon.
Su Xun was taken aback not expecting her to jump to this question. A faint blush colored his otherwise porcelain-like face.
He awkwardly cleared his throat and with a resigned nod, replied"Uh, it's all true."
"Why? Why do you like me so much?" Luo Liyan inquired.
Su Xun lowered his gaze hesitating for a moment before softly answering "Do you remember the person you rescued from the mountain six years ago?"
"Are you that bloody man?" Luo Liyan pretended to gasp in shock. "So, what you're saying is that you only like me because I saved you and now you want to repay me with your love?"
For some reason this assumption made her heart feel heavy.
She handed the phone back to Su Xun and gave him a scolding look. "You're not living in ancient times how can you have such old-fashioned thoughts?"
"That's only part of the reason." Su Xun said and as she was genuinely getting upset he quickly pulled her into his arms.
"I love you just because you're you. That night you saved me I fell for you. But it was the you I had secretly admired all along. I love how you fight and how you stand your ground how you get excited about things and laugh like a child."
His love for Luo Liyan was boundless. His heart which beat passionately had no room for anything else but her.
"So... Luo Liyan, will you be my girlfriend? Give me a chance and I promise to cherish you and never do anything you don't like." Su Xun cautiously asked.
Luo Liyan leaned softly against Su Xun's chest and listened to his strong and steady heartbeat. She felt like she was melting in a sweet and sugary sensation.
"Yes." Luo Liyan nodded slightly.
How could she not like someone like him?
Given more time, she might even fall deeply in love with this excellent yet silly man.
"Really?" Su Xun slightly pulled back and his deep sparkling eyes stared at Luo Liyan like the myriad stars in the galaxy.
When one's attachment to a particular thing runs too deep it can turn into an obsession. In Su Xun's case Luo Liyan had become that kind of obsession. So after receiving her confirmation, he found himself feeling a bit uneasy.
"Not true." Luo Liyan playfully raised an eyebrow and stared at Su Xun whose face still held a hint of confusion.
Su Xun let out a soft chuckle.
With one arm wrapped around her waist he lifted Luo Liyan up and gently pecked her soft lips twice. "No turning back you've already agreed."
