Luo Liyan watched as the pursuers closed in. She didn't have time to think about what to do. She grabbed Weichi Che dashed into a narrow alley and lifted a water tank cover at the side door lowering him inside.
The water only reached his waist and it didn't seem to pose a significant threat to his life. Luo Liyan then placed several silver notes and coins into Weichi Che's hands.
"Be careful not to get the silver notes wet they won't be usable if they are. I'll come to find you at the rooster's crowing time. If I don't come by then go outside the city to find Reverend Jingkong. Follow his lead, and the ruffians won't dare to trouble you. He's renowned in Yan Country."
"Sister..." Weichi Che quivered and called out his large teardrops falling from his eyes full of reluctance that tugged at Luo Liyan's heart.

"M***er, woman I told you not to run!" a fierce-looking man cursed kicking Luo Liyan to the ground.

Luo Liyan clutched her stomach and gasped in pain feeling like a knife had stabbed her.
Before she could react, another flurry of blows rained down on her.
Wuuu... Did she regret it now?
She wished she had known that saving Weichi Che in the brothel would lead to a severe beating like this. She would rather have him hold a less favorable opinion of her.
"Heh, idiot didn't you say something about giving up something to gain something? Now is the time for you to give up." Number 666 taunted with a laugh.
"Get lost! Get lost and stay lost!" Luo Liyan roared in her heart.
She clenched her teeth and endured more punches and kicks before someone picked her up from the ground.
"You wretched woman, you better tell me where that little brat who escaped with you has gone. Otherwise, you're going to die!" The fierce man lifted Luo Liyan's chin with a whip glaring at her menacingly.
"I don't know." Luo Liyan snorted staring at him defiantly.
"M***er, when offered a toast one should never refuse it. You're going to drink a forfeit!" The man raised his hand and smacked Luo Liyan across the face.
Crimson bloodstains trickled from the corner of her mouth.
"If you don't talk, I'll beat you to death!"
"Do you dare?" Luo Liyan, her body aching raised an eyebrow and gazed at the man. Her eyes were like rippling spring water breathtakingly beautiful despite her injuries.
