PWDLAW Chapter 10: Punished

 Chapter 10: Punished

Chu Liushi turned around, seeing the old man still smoking. She couldn't help but express her anxiety, "Old man, are you really agreeing to this?"

"Do you think we can stop it? The third son's words clearly indicate long-term preparation. Even the clan is aware and if we disagree, it might cause trouble."

"Anyway, this matter is the third son's fault to Ye."

"In the last period, be kind to her, help her plan a way out."

"Oh dear, what mess is this? I can't tell anyone yet. It's making me anxious." Chu Liushi really didn't agree with this matter. Although Ye was not the best daughter-in-law, divorcing over a trivial matter was unreasonable.

Moreover, both of the third son's children were born. How would they get along in the future?

"Wait, it seems that the third son said he won't remarry after the separation?" Chu Liushi widened her eyes and couldn't help muttering "Could there be conflicts between the couple? This sounds like a joke..."

Chu Zhiwen exhaled a puff of smoke, also unable to understand. "Let's stabilize things first."

Chu Liushi nodded, choosing not to spread this information for the time being.

-

"Dad? You're back?" Chu Ziluo had just walked halfway when she encountered Chu Heng coming back. She greeted him softly and followed behind as he approached.

"Why did you come over?" Chu Heng asked.

"Mother asked me to come and inquire when you'll be back." Chu Ziluo dared not hide anything and answered honestly.

Chu Heng's expression darkened slightly. "She asked you to come, and you came?"

Chu Ziluo looked at him anxiously, unsure of what to say.

Seeing that the child was frightened, Chu Heng's expression returned to calm. He glanced at the shoes she was wearing and said, "Go home first."

Chu Heng walked fast but because his daughter was following, he subconsciously slowed his pace.

They entered the courtyard.

Chu Heng subconsciously looked towards the master bedroom in the west wing. The window was half-open but he couldn't see what Ye was doing inside.

Instead, he turned his head and saw his son, Chu Jin sitting at the desk in the east wing, writing. He was reciting the Thousand Character Classic but mispronouncing a few words.

"Heaven and Earth are mysterious and yellow, the universe is vast and primordial. The sun and moon are full and dim, the stars are arranged in constellations. The cold comes and the heat goes, autumn harvests and winter stores. Intercalary months accumulate, rhythms and pitches adjust..."

Chu Heng walked quickly to the door of Chu Jin's room, his tone cold. "What was that about the sun and moon?"

"The sun and moon are full and dim... ah no, it's the sun and moon are full and dim..." Chu Jin was startled by the sudden reprimand and when he turned to see the serious expression on Chu Heng's face, his legs started to tremble.

"Dad... Dad..."

"Is this the book you usually read? You can't even pronounce the first words of the Thousand Character Classic correctly? It shows you haven't been studying hard. Copy it ten times and hand it to me before bedtime." Chu Heng ordered.

Upon hearing this, Chu Jin was as if struck by lightning. Opening his mouth to cry, Chu Heng glanced at him coldly. "Cry once, and you'll write one more copy."

Chu Jin's tears instantly stopped and he dared not throw a tantrum. He obediently continued copying the book.

Ten times might not be much but it was enough for Chu Jin to write for the whole day.

Chu Heng turned around and didn't see Ye coming out of the house. He snorted and went into the study to read.

Ye Muyu heard the conversation outside, just glanced up and did not go to protect Chu Jin as Chu Heng expected.

This child, Chu Jin, had indeed been spoiled. Now that he was afraid of Chu Heng, she could make use of it to change his behavior.
