The wooden beauty of Young Master Sheng(2)

**Chapter 2: Uncle Takes Her Home**

Jiang Chenchen stared at the numerous ice creams in front of her but didn't reach for any.

She lowered her gaze, and in those seemingly calm eyes, a hint of pain emerged.

Abruptly, she closed her eyes, covered her head with both hands, and crouched on the ground. She remained silent for a long time.

Painful and quiet?!

Sheng Mingsi didn't know what had triggered her, and he didn't have much patience. He knew it was unlikely to get anything from a mental patient, but there was still a glimmer of hope.

Looking back now, it seemed amusing.

"I won't ask anymore."

He bent down and placed an ice cream in front of her. "Please have this."

His chilly voice softened considerably, surprising even his assistant.

Jiang Chenchen looked up at him, as if transported back to that time.

It was a hot and delightful summer day.

Instinctively, she reached out and, just like before, accepted the ice cream he handed her.

Perhaps due to her vacant appearance, Sheng Mingsi had already given up on getting any information about his father from her.

He glanced down at her and turned to leave.

The director and others followed him. "Young Master Sheng, about your father..."

...

...

In the afternoon, Jiang Chenchen's uncle, Jiang Zhong, took her from the mental hospital.

Jiang Zhong found his niece to be better than he had imagined. At least, she was visually striking, bearing a resemblance to her parents in her features. Although she seemed vacant, she wasn't like those lunatics in the hospital.

Moreover, she was obedient.

Tell her to go, and she would follow.

With this in mind, their reunion in a couple of days should go smoothly.

"Chenchen, don't blame Uncle for not visiting you all these years. It's because Uncle has been too busy with work. Uncle is sorry for that. From now on, Uncle will make it up to you and ensure you have a good life."

Jiang Zhong spoke as he drove, occasionally glancing at her in the rearview mirror.

Seeing her staring blankly out the window, he decided not to say anything more since the director had mentioned that she rarely spoke.

When they arrived home, a duplex, someone was waiting outside.

Jiang Zhong's wife, Zhang Lanmei, hurriedly approached, opened the car door, and welcomed Jiang Chenchen.

"Ah, child, you're finally home. You've suffered. Come in quickly."

Zhang Lanmei was a meticulous person. Although there were some frowns on her face, she was well-groomed. The foundation on her face didn't quite conceal the bruise at the corner of her eye.

She warmly led Jiang Chenchen into the house. Seeing that the child was just blankly staring, not exhibiting any extreme behavior, Zhang Lanmei's smile became even more radiant.

She busily showed Jiang Chenchen around the house, arranged for her to see each room, and finally prepared a set of clothes for her to freshen up in the bathroom.

Jiang Jie'er, who had been doing homework in her room, heard the commotion and came out. Seeing her mom, she curiously asked, "Has my mentally ill cousin returned?"

"Shh, lower your voice!"

"Oh, what's the big deal? Anyway, she's got a problem with her brain and won't understand anything."

Zhang Lanmei's expression turned serious as she scolded, "You're not allowed to laugh. If it weren't for your cousin, you wouldn't know about this! Go back to your room and do your homework!"

"Oh, Mom, don't be angry. I understand."

Jiang Jie'er grumbled and returned to her room. At that moment, the door opened. She quickly turned to look at her supposedly crazy cousin.
