**Chapter 3: Descending from the Rooftop**

Jiang Chenchen washed quickly, only blow-drying her hair halfway. She put on the white dress prepared by Zhang Lanmei—a slightly thick fabric that highlighted her well-proportioned figure, making her exceptionally attractive.

In her simple and clean appearance, there was an extraordinary allure.

Zhang Lanmei was ready to compliment her, but she saw Jiang Chenchen's gaze passing by Jiang Jie'er and then walking toward her.

Jiang Chenchen's legs were slender, and her pace was quick.

Jiang Jie'er had been standing there for a while.

This wasn't what she had imagined a mentally ill person to be like.

What was she up to?!

Did she realize that coming back was a trap?!

Getting closer, there was an oppressive feeling.

"What are you doing?"

Frowning, Jiang Jie'er called out, but Jiang Chenchen walked past her without a glance and went downstairs without looking back.

This sudden and inexplicable behavior made Jiang Jie'er turn to look at her, muttering, "She's really got some issues!"

Zhang Lanmei came forward and patted Jiang Jie'er's shoulder, whispering, "Lower your voice. Didn't I tell you to go back to your room and study?"

"Okay, okay, I got it."

Jiang Jie'er rolled her eyes with a bit of dissatisfaction and returned to her room.

Zhang Lanmei sighed, "This child has really been spoiled."

Saying this, she hurriedly followed Jiang Chenchen downstairs. "Chenchen, if you want anything, tell Auntie. Auntie is here to help you!"

Passing through the living room, she saw Jiang Chenchen in the kitchen, drinking water.

Jiang Chenchen drank a lot of water.

But she didn't respond to Zhang Lanmei.

She went upstairs again.

The door closed.

Zhang Lanmei wanted to go into the room and talk to her, but considering the girl's strange behavior, she gave up on the idea.

Until dinner time, when Jiang Zhong went to the company and came back, he was startled when he entered the house.

He saw Jiang Chenchen sitting on the roof, gazing at the gloomy sky.

It was almost dark now.

What was she looking at?

"Chenchen! How did you climb up there?! Come down quickly!"

Jiang Zhong was shocked. If she accidentally fell and died, wouldn't everything be in vain?

But the person on the roof didn't even look at him.

His mood soured. "Chenchen, come down, do you hear me?"

Inside the house, Zhang Lanmei heard the commotion and quickly came out, also getting a shock. How did this child climb up there?

Ignoring Jiang Zhong, she ran to the window and called out, "Chenchen, what do you want? Tell Auntie, Auntie is here to help you!"

Jiang Zhong finally made it up to the roof while scolding her, "Watch out! How can you be so careless! If you cause any trouble now, you'll see!"

The two of them rushed into the house. It turned out she climbed up from the window in her room.

Jiang Zhong scolded her while climbing down from the window, and at the same time, he went to pull her.

Although it was a two-story window, it looked a bit high, especially if someone fell from there.

How could a mentally ill person engage in such dangerous behavior?!

He somewhat awkwardly climbed onto the roof, reaching out to her. But Chenchen didn't look at him, and it seemed like she didn't hear him. This annoyed him, and his foot slipped, nearly causing him to fall.

It was only when Zhang Lanmei shouted for her to come down for dinner that she made some movement.

She started to act wooden and dull, and Jiang Zhong wanted to protect her from accidentally falling. He reached out to her, but she didn't come towards him at all!

Instead, she transitioned from one window ledge to another, almost without pausing, and jumped down.

Jiang Zhong and Zhang Lanmei screamed.

"Ah! Chenchen!"

This was beyond their expectations, but they knew she was a mental patient, and they had been careless!

Jiang Zhong climbed down from the window, pushed Zhang Lanmei aside, and rushed downstairs to check on the situation.
