**Chapter 8: Injury**

The sooner, the better.

The next three days went smoothly.

Jiang Zhong also hoped to end it quickly, avoiding any unnecessary complications. So, he immediately nodded with a smile.

"Listen, don't mess things up again!"

Jiang Zhong hung up the phone, sat on the sofa, and ordered Zhang Lanmei, who had just returned after getting an injection, "It's noon. Prepare some good food and wine. Today, I want to have a good drink with him!"

"But, you just got an injection. How can you drink alcohol..."

Zhang Lanmei's words were cut off, "Why talk so much nonsense? If I ask you to do something, just do it, understand!"

Jiang Zhong scolded her, his tone full of disgust.

With red eyes, Zhang Lanmei didn't say anything and hurriedly went to the kitchen.

After eating a little and drinking two glasses of wine, Jiang Zhong felt a bit dizzy. The combination of a cold and alcohol had its effect. Suddenly, he went upstairs, unlocked the door on the second floor, and stumbled in.

Zhang Lanmei, seeing that something was wrong, rushed up but was locked outside.

Her expression changed, and she banged on the door, "Husband, what are you doing?"

This commotion attracted Jiang Jie, who didn't understand, "Mom, what's going on?"

Zhang Lanmei was momentarily speechless but urged her to come and help knock on the door together.

The strength of the two women was not that great. Zhang Lanmei was anxious, and Jiang Jie thought her mother was making a fuss.

"What can my dad do to a mentally ill person?"

"He..."

After drinking, he was not himself!

How could she say such things, so she could only knock on the door and call for help, asking him to come out quickly.

However, Jiang Zhong in the room ignored the earth-shattering shouting outside and walked towards the girl at the window.

Jiang Chenchen, looking outside, turned her head to look at the commotion.

Her movements were slow and calm.

Ignoring the loud shouting outside, Jiang Zhong, with a big smile, approached her and said, "Hey! You really look like your mother! Such a beauty, but she died early, along with my unlucky brother! In the past, if I touched your mother's hand a bit, your father would want to fight me! Now let me touch her daughter's hand. Let's see who can stop me? Anyway, you are about to marry that big fool. Why not let me..."

A scream echoed from the room, followed by the crisp sound of porcelain shattering.

Zhang Lanmei was startled, her face darkening in embarrassment. Could it be...

The door quickly opened, revealing the broken vase and the man lying on the ground.

There was blood on the man's head.

The person standing at the door was Jiang Chenchen with an indifferent expression.

Jiang Jie screamed, pushing her away, "You hurt my dad! What are you doing!"

Zhang Lanmei quickly supported Jiang Jie, anxiously asking Jiang Chenchen, "Chenchen, are you okay?"

"Mom! Come over quickly! Dad's head is broken, and he's bleeding!"

Terrified by the sight of Jiang Zhong bleeding from his head, Jiang Jie kept screaming but dared not approach.

Zhang Lanmei rushed up to support him and told Jiang Jie to quickly call the hospital.

As Jiang Jie rushed out, she bumped into Jiang Chenchen, fiercely saying, "If anything happens to my dad, I won't let you go!"

Zhang Lanmei scolded, "Ah Jie!"

Jiang Jie went downstairs to make the call.

Zhang Lanmei used a towel to press against Jiang Zhong's bleeding forehead. Her face was nervous, and her eyes, already red, became even more profound, filled with both hatred and weakness.

Jiang Chenchen stood at the door, motionless.

Seeing Zhang Lanmei turn her tearful eyes towards her, she apologized, "Chenchen, Auntie is sorry."

Jiang Chenchen suddenly walked over, handing over the shattered pieces of porcelain.

Sharp and pointed porcelain shards.

They could easily pierce through the still pulsating arteries.
