However, if she were truly able to leave, he didn't want her to return just for him.
Weichi Che was torn his gaze locked on Luo Liyan who was preparing to leave.
Another day would be enough to let him rest and recover. He would be able to leave with her.
Luo Liyan wiped the sweat from her brow finally finishing tending to Weichi Che's body and his wounds. Then she begrudgingly dressed him in his clothes.
After feeding him two more pieces of pastry and some water, she hid the remaining pastries and tea in a thick pile of straw.
"If you can move, you can help yourself to the water and food inside. But to ensure my safety, be careful when you're alone and don't let anyone find you. I've prepared these for you. Otherwise, I might end up waiting in vain." she whispered to him.
"I'll be okay, Big Sister."
Weichi Che blinked his eyes vigorously and only then did Luo Liyan feel assured enough to leave.
Watching the door being gently closed and locked, Weichi Che felt an overwhelming sense of attachment. But as a powerless child he could only wait for the return of his 'big sister.'
After about half an hour as the sky gradually brightened, Weichi Che was sure that Luo Liyan had successfully escaped from the brothel. He then closed his eyes to rest.
Now he had to focus on recuperating so that he wouldn't become a burden to her. He needed to regain his strength quickly and escape from this place with her.
During his nap, Weichi Che's sleep was fragmented. He would wake up countless times, believing that everything he had experienced the night before was nothing more than a dream.
However, thanks to his remarkable recovery ability within just a few hours, he was able to sit up on his own.
After finishing the pastries and water from the teapot, he held the teapot tightly in his arms and stared at the wooden door.
He didn't know how long he had been sitting like that but Luo Liyan finally appeared in the woodshed carrying a large package.
"Sister you're finally back."
Weichi Che's childlike and hoarse voice took Luo Liyan by surprise. She patted her chest in amazement and looked at Weichi Che, who was now sitting up and watching her.
"You've recovered so quickly?"
Luo Liyan was astonished but then realized that his swift recovery had likely saved him from death numerous times. She had specifically arranged for the last time she rescued him to be the third time he was tortured nearly to death creating some initial aversion toward her.
After experiencing utter despair she knew he would develop deeper feelings for her once she saved him from the brink of death again.
With this in mind she realized that she was indeed quite clever.
