"General Weichi Che has brought how many people?" Marquis of An Yong asked with trembling words.
"Just one." the servant who had picked himself up from the floor said. "and he seems to have brought gifts."
"He brought gifts?" Marquis of An Yong couldn't believe his ears, his eyes widening in disbelief. "Are you sure you didn't see it wrong?"
"I'm sure! General Weichi Che had several boxes in his hands."
Marquis of An Yong pondered for a moment then suddenly waved his hand in disdain. "Let him go! Let him go! A yellow weasel is no friend to the chicken. He doesn't have good intentions."
"Ingrate!" Lady Luo slapped her chopsticks onto the table with a loud bang. "Do you see our Marquis of An Yong's residence as a chicken?"
"Mother, it's not that. Your son just spoke without thinking in anger." Marquis of An Yong said, his neck shrunk like a quail.
Seeing him like this Lady Luo sighed deeply in despair.
Heaven was going to destroy their Marquis of An Yong's residence!
After serving as an official for several decades, he was not only timid but also wanted to stir up trouble. He had no sense of judgment or timing.
How long could she protect her group of weak children?
Lady Luo sighed deeply, feeling her strength drain away as she leaned back in her chair.
"Mother!" Marquis of An Yong nervously stepped forward.
"I'm fine!" Lady Luo waved her hand and looked at the servant. "Quickly invite General Weichi Che in and have the table cleaned up as if we haven't eaten. We have to be prepared for anything."
"Yes!"
The two elder sons, the third elder, the third wife, and several children obediently responded.
"Mother do you intend to invite that star of misfortune to dinner?" Marquis of An Yong asked a face full of reluctance.
"The young emperor is still inexperienced and General Weichi Che controls both political and military power. Even if we can't befriend him, we must not antagonize him. It is necessary to maintain good relations to safeguard the hundred-year foundation of the Marquis of An Yong's residence. Do I a woman need to teach you this principle?" Lady Luo slapped the table heavily feeling her breath becoming uncomfortable.

Lady Luo pounded the table heavily leaving everyone breathless.
"Mother!" The second and third eldest sons rushed forward to soothe Lady Luo's anger then glared at Marquis of An Yong, showing their disapproval. "Big Brother do you really want to upset Mother?"
"I... I'm not..." Marquis of An Yong paused for a moment and then sighed, ultimately deciding to agree. "I'll follow Mother's advice."
Alright! Fine!
He had already narrowly escaped with his life the other day and he had no intention of fighting anymore. What was there to fight for the sake of appearances?
Lady Luo heaved a sigh of relief stood up and looked at the people in the room. "All of you come and greet him with me."
The people in the room were taken aback and looked unwilling but they lowered their heads and obediently followed.
After walking a few steps they saw a servant leading a man who exuded an intense and icy presence walk into the corridor with large strides.
Although he did indeed have quite a few gifts in his hands his whole demeanor was shrouded in an overwhelming chill sending shivers down people's spines.
"General Weichi Che is visiting which is a bit too far for us to greet you. We hope you understand." Lady Luo with the assistance of the Marquis of An Yong forced a smile and went forward to meet him
