Just as he walked to the window of the study, he saw Ye Muyu and Chu Ziluo sitting inside engrossed in reading. A faint smile appeared on his lips.


"Ah Yu." Chu Heng pushed open the door and walked in.


Ye Muyu put down the book in her hand and turned to look at him. "You're back? Do you want to take a rest? Ziluo and I will head back once you return."


"It's fine. I'm not tired. You can stay here and study. I'll join you after a while. You two can go back when the exams are approaching." Chu Heng said.


"Alright then." Seeing his insistence, Ye Muyu didn't inquire further. It seemed there was nothing urgent.


Chu Heng picked up a book and sat on the soft mat, reading attentively. Chu Ziluo lowered her voice, afraid of disturbing him.


Observing this, Ye Muyu asked her to practice calligraphy while she contemplated the type of shop to open. She wrote down a few tentative options: a bookshop, a clothing store, a jewelry store, and a cosmetics store.

They were secondary choices.

"Choose a bookshop," Chu Heng said, having seen what she wrote at some point. His slender fingers landed on the paper and he spoke with a clear and steady voice.


Ye Muyu raised her head to look at him. "Why?"


"It's easy to manage. You like reading, right? A bookshop will attract fellow scholars and their backgrounds are clean."


"A cosmetics store would also attract women and it's easy to get along with them."


"No, it's complicated." Chu Heng shook his head, an unusual firmness in his attitude.

Ye Muyu contemplated and felt that Chu Heng meant both. "Alright, let's choose a bookshop. Besides, I want to collect more miscellaneous records to show Ziluo."

"I'll ask Luchuan to help you print books." Chu Heng suggested.

Since Chu Heng offered to help, she accepted it. Being too reserved would distance her from her benefactor.


If she wanted to grow, she couldn't recklessly bump into everything. Chu Heng was more like her patron than anyone else.


"If you want, you can." Chu Heng nodded in agreement.


"By the way, didn't you start a business in transporting goods? What do you usually transport?" Ye Muyu asked curiously.


Chu Heng joined his hands together, closed the book and did not hide anything. "Mainly transporting goods from the Jiangnan region to the north. The capital is also developing lately."


"Clothes, tea, porcelain, novelty items, and grains, among other things."
