Chapter 274: God of Wealth
Waving her hand again, she called, "Nenya, come over here and help me support Madam's hair."
Nenya responded with an 'eh' and approached to hold the hair. Her instinctive motion had her palm facing downward, the back of her hand cradling the rolled-up hair to prevent the rough skin from scratching the fine fabric.
Hu Shi on the other hand supported Ye Muyu's shoulders and waist guiding her to lie back on the bed, hair straightened and laid at the head of the bed.
"Madam, just lie down for a moment. I'll rub off the water droplets from your hair. When it's done, you can sit up." Hu Shi instructed.
Ye Muyu reached out to touch her hair, saying, "Actually, there's no need for such trouble. Just wipe it casually, it doesn't have to be completely dry."
Hu Shi, hearing this, disagreed shaking her head and saying, "Madam, that won't do. Your health is already not good. If you catch a chill, you may need to take more medicine."
"Besides, Master just instructed me that you mustn't catch a cold. Leave the task of drying your hair to me and Nenya." As she spoke, Hu Shi opened the cloth wrapping Ye Muyu's long hair and took out a dry cloth that had been prepared in advance. She carefully wiped Ye Muyu's hair.
Nenya placed the stove which was brought from the kitchen, beside Ye Muyu.
In her other hand, she held a stove with layers of internal nets. It seemed crudely made but not a speck of ash would float out. One couldn't help but acknowledge the wisdom of ancient people. Although they didn't have hair dryers, they had other methods to dry hair quickly.
Ye Muyu wasn't used to having two people serving her just to dry her hair. But thinking that Chu Heng had ordered it and considering his concern for her health, even if she refused, he wouldn't listen.
Instead of wasting words, it was better to cooperate and tidy up early, then reward the two later.
After all, she would need to take medicine if she caught a chill and that wasn't cheap.
Ye Muyu occasionally chatted with Hu Shi, "Did anyone come to the house today?"
Today was the Dragon Boat Festival. In previous years, there would surely be guests visiting. However, this year with the women's art competition disrupting the usual customs, it was different.
"Madam, yes. Mrs. Zhang from the eldest daughter's family came this afternoon as well as the eldest son of the Zhang family. They brought zongzi and other gifts. Second Madam's family also came and people from the Wang family too." Hu Shi's answer clearly surprised Ye Muyu.
The elder sister-in-law and the second sister-in-law's families brought zongzi to the house?
This was somewhat unusual. In previous years, the two families didn't have much interaction unless they met at the old house, exchanging a few words.
"Did you return the favor?" Ye Muyu asked.
"Yes, Madam. Following your instructions, I returned ten zongzi and gave them a packet of brown sugar and a packet of tea each." Hu Shi replied.
Ye Muyu thought, regardless of the other party's intentions, the courtesy had been returned. They didn't owe anything to the other party. As for visiting relatives, it seemed a bit far-fetched.
In fact, Ye Muyu had overthought this time. The families of Zhang and Wang were stimulated by the news of marrying off their daughters and earning money consecutively. Moreover, after returning from the county, she coincidentally met Chu Xing, who unintentionally mentioned the money earned from Zhuge Suo.
The Zhuge Suo was something everyone in the village knew about, especially after the previous incident of falling into the water. Gossip quickly spread and villagers probably knew more details than Ye Muyu, the person involved.
So, hearing about the money earned from Zhuge Suo, the two families instantly thought that the Chu family was like the God of Wealth.
