Chu Yonghua paused for a moment before reacting. Indeed, why would he help Xu Shi when he didn't like her in the first place? Moreover, this whole issue was caused by Xu Shi herself.


She should be punished.


Besides, he didn't even know how many things his wife had been deceived into giving away!


Such a troublemaker deserved to be punished.


Why hesitate any longer?


Chu Yonghua furrowed his brows, deep in thought, going through the same thought process as his eldest son, Chu An.


In the end, he reached the same conclusion,he had been too indecisive. Decisiveness was key to avoiding self-deception!


Not delving into Chu Yonghua's thoughts, Chu Heng only needed a nod from him. Once he handled the matter, his purpose for coming today would be fulfilled.


Seeing that his goal was achieved, he had no further intention of staying.


Chu Heng had already entered the courtyard and noticed a lantern hanging at the entrance, casting a faint glow.


The lights in the rooms of the two children in the west wing were already extinguished.


"Master, there's hot water in the pot for you to bath." Hu Shi heard the sounds from the courtyard and appeared seemingly out of nowhere, walking up to Chu Heng and speaking softly.


Chu Heng nodded.


Luchuan asked Hu Shi to take down the lantern at the entrance, while he quickly went to the kitchen. He grabbed a wooden bucket and filled it with hot water, pouring it into the tub in the bathing area.


After finishing bathing, Chu Heng entered the east wing.


His gaze fell on the slightly raised figure on the bed and with a gentle touch he lightly caressed her cheek.


Feeling the warmth between his fingertips, Chu Heng instinctively retracted his hand. His hands were too cold, and Ye Muyu's health was not good. It was better not to get too close.


It was almost July, and the nights were not too cold. Even when sleeping, he didn't need to cover himself with a quilt. However, Ye Muyu still covered herself with a thin blanket, indicating that she was sensitive to the cold.


Chu Heng lay down on his side and quickly fell asleep.


Evidently in a good mood, a faint smile lingered on his lips as he slept.


Early the next morning.


Ye Muyu rubbed her eyes and sat up.


At a glance, she saw Chu Heng, who had not yet gotten up. She had already become accustomed to sharing a bed with someone and it must be said that human adaptability was quite powerful. In just two months, she had gone from feeling awkward to considering it normal.


Getting out of bed, Ye Muyu sat at the edge, putting on her shoes.


Hearing the sounds of waking up behind her, she turned her head to see Chu Heng sitting up, his gaze clear, without any signs of just waking up.


"Awake? Get up quickly and have breakfast. You're going to the academy today."


"Okay." Seeing that Ye Muyu didn't ask much, Chu Heng silently breathed a sigh of relief. He had actually woken up a while ago but decided to lie down a bit longer to accompany Ye Muyu.


When Ye Muyu got out of bed, Hu Shi had already heated water in the kitchen.


She brought a basin of water for Chu Heng.


She then went back to the kitchen and cut some fresh vegetables. The soup base needed to be re-cooked because the overnight broth was no longer fresh especially in the summer with higher temperatures.


"Honey, come and wash up." Chu Heng's voice came from outside.


Hu Shi, with a smile in her eyes, said, "Madam, you should go out. The servant will cook some porridge. Oh, about the milk, I squeezed a large bowl when I got up this morning. How would you like to have it?"


"In a while, I'll use a pot to boil it. Boiling it will be ready to drink." Ye Muyu wiped her hands.


After giving her instructions, she left the kitchen.


Chu Heng was waiting for her outside the washroom area.


Seeing Ye Muyu, he said, "Come out to wash up."


Hu Shi heard the morning sounds and came out, taking the basin from Chu Heng's hands. She then walked back to the kitchen to prepare porridge.


The two of them stood outside, washing up together.


Chu Heng glanced at Ye Muyu and said, "The weather is getting hotter. Don't cover yourself too much when sleeping."


Ye Muyu nodded, "I'm just used to it. It doesn't feel right without a blanket."


"Alright, pay attention to your health."


After washing up, they went back inside the room.


Hu Shi had already prepared a simple breakfast, and the atmosphere was harmonious.


After breakfast, Chu Heng was ready to leave.


Ye Muyu walked him to the door. As he left, he turned back and said, "Take care of yourself. I'll be back in the evening."


Ye Muyu nodded watching him leave. When he disappeared from her sight, she turned around and went back to the room.


It was another day of waiting.
