Chapter 798: Full-level Boss Dressed As a Peasant Girl
Chapter 798: Yao Family's Departure
After Qi Chan finished his business, he left. The next day, he met the official who returned from the post station.
On the third day, Yao Tianqin's family prepared to depart and return to the capital.
Shu Yu took a day off and accompanied her family to see them off.
There were many people at the city gate, not only from the Lu family but also from other families that had interacted with the Yao family more frequently in recent years. Even those who had conflicts with the Yao family in the past wore smiling faces and came to bid farewell, stuffing many things into the carriage.
Shu Yu also saw the rumored official from the Ministry of Justice, whose surname was Wan. He appeared to be around forty years old, thin and pale, probably due to the previous excessive blood loss from his injury.
He seemed acquainted with Qi Chan as they talked for quite some time at the city gate before joining the Yao family to depart.
Yao Tianqin and the others bid farewell to everyone before finally coming in front of the Lu family.
Having already said what needed to be said, Yao Tianqin simply reached out and patted Lu Erbai's shoulder, smiling as he spoke, "Then we'll be leaving. Keep in touch in the future, and take care of yourselves."
"Have a safe journey."
The Lu family waved their hands as the convoy slowly moved forward.
The Yao family had quite a bit of luggage, as they had lived here for five years. They took everything they could bring, and the items they couldn't take were mostly given to the Lu family.
Lu Erbai understood his own family's situation. They wouldn't stay here for too long anyway, so these things given to them would be wasted.
But Yao Tianqin had a good relationship with him and thought that everything he said was just polite words, insisting on giving them to him. He even said that if he left, he could give them to whoever he wanted, and it was none of his concern.
As a result, the large furniture items from the Yao family were piled up in the Lu family's firewood shed.
Yao Tianqin's departure didn't affect Shu Yu much, but Lu Erbai seemed a bit sentimental.
Fortunately, Yao Tianqin had left behind many item designs, and Lu Erbai had eagerly absorbed them these days. He planned to try making them in a couple of days, and he would be busy with that.
After seeing off the Yao family, Shu Yu bid farewell to Qi Chan and then returned to her courtyard with her family.
As soon as she entered the house and took a sip of water, Meng Yunzheng arrived, holding a stack of books in his arms.
He hadn't gone to see off Yao Tianqin since they weren't familiar with each other, especially with the presence of the official from the Ministry of Justice and Qi Chan.
Now it seemed that he had taken the opportunity to buy many books from the bookstore.
Shu Yu took out the book on top, "Why did you suddenly buy so many?"
"These two are for Da Hu. During the New Year, I taught him and he learned quickly with good comprehension. He is already familiar with the Thousand Character Classic and Hundred Family Surnames, so it's time to move on to other books."
Shu Yu flipped open the book "Guangyun" and felt her eyes spinning for a moment at the sight of characters like "yi shu er dong san zhong" (one, bundle, two, winter, three, bell).
She then looked at the book "Erya" below and silently put it back.
It wasn't easy for a six or seven-year-old child to read these books.
Sympathizing with Da Hu for a second, Shu Yu looked at the remaining stack of books on the table. "What about these? They can't all be for Da Hu, right?"
"Of course not. Da Hu is currently self-studying at home. Books like the Four Books and Five Classics can wait. He can learn them when he enters school after we return." Of course, if he masters the books at the beginning of this stack, Meng Yunzheng could consider teaching him in advance.
"These books are for me to read."
Shu Yu was taken aback and compared the stack of books with her hand. It was quite a lot indeed.
