After a while, Hou Shi returned to the room and breathed a sigh of relief when she saw Cheng Dong still there.
"Master, you're still here. I was so worried."

There was no response from inside. Hou Shi cautiously waited for a moment before pushing open the door.
Cheng Dong was lying on the ground, and Hou Shi pursed her lips. She didn't approach him but instead turned her head and waved her hand to her daughter, who was not far away.
The Sixth Miss turned and ran, and before long, she returned with Shu Yu to the front of the cottage.
Hou Shi whispered, "He finished eating the noodles and now he's lying on the ground. Ah Yu, are you sure he won't suddenly wake up?"

Shu Yu stood up and asked Hou Shi for assistance in helping Cheng Dong onto the mule cart.

She led the mule cart out of the post station, bidding farewell to the two of them. With a flick of the reins, she headed towards Heichang County.
