Chapter 97: The Ying Family Brothers, Losing Their Given Names
Suisui’s voice was soft, and she appeared delicate and sweet.
She even called her “pretty sister” with a sugary tone.
Ying Zhi was stunned when she heard this.
Being a mischievous child, Ying Zhi had rarely heard anyone call her "sister," let alone "pretty sister."
At home, everyone called her names like "mischievous monkey" or "playful egg..."
Her nickname was "Qiao Qiao," but no one used it properly; they mostly called her "playful ghost" or "playful egg."
Hearing someone call her "pretty sister" was a rare delight for Ying Zhi.
Although she was the same age as Suisui, she was considerably taller and stronger.
Pleased with the title, Ying Zhi couldn't help but show off: “Did you hear? I’m a pretty sister!”
After boasting, Ying Zhi happily patted Suisui’s head: “Wow, so soft and nice to touch!”
“Is your face soft too?”
“Can I touch it?”
“Wow, is your hair always like this?”
“It looks so amazing, I want hair like that too!”
Ying Zhi was a chatterbox with a particularly loud voice.
When she spoke, her voice drowned out everything else in the room.
The Grand Princess had already lifted her handkerchief to partly cover her face.
She wanted to maintain her dignity but couldn't control this mischievous child.
It was enough for the child to embarrass herself without dragging them into it!
Although Ying Zhi was loud, she meant no harm—just a simple child.
After touching Suisui’s head and face and discovering her dimples, Ying Zhi’s eyes widened even more: “Wow, this is beautiful, I want it too!”
Ying Zhi then gently took Suisui’s hand and moved closer to the Grand Princess: “Grandmother, I want this dimple too!”
“It’s so pretty!”
“Why don’t I have one?”
“Neither do my brothers!”
Ying Zhi couldn’t stop once she started talking.
The Grand Princess, maintaining a stern face, chose to ignore it and signaled to Madam Sun, her message clear: You manage your granddaughter; I can’t handle this!
The more she managed, the more exhausted she became!
Madam Sun felt the pressure intensely.
She regretted not bringing her daughter-in-law.
Whose child was it? They should manage it!
She was merely a gentle grandmother!
Though Ying Zhi expressed a desire for dimples, she quickly forgot the idea as children do.
After speaking with the Grand Princess, Ying Zhi took Suisui’s hand and loudly asked, “By the way, what’s your name? I’m Qiao Qiao, from the ‘pretty’ Qiao.”
Suisui, feeling delighted with the attention from such a pretty and impressive sister, softly replied, “I’m Sui Sui, ‘Sui’ meaning peace.”
Ying Zhi was thrilled to hear this unique name: “Wow, that name is so special and sounds very obedient.”
“Suisui, do you want this?”
“Suisui, do you want to drink this?”
“Suisui, do you want to meet my brothers?”
Ying Zhi asked Suisui’s opinions and, finding her not averse, took her to meet her brothers.
The Ying family had many brothers, with two biological ones and several cousins.
Today, two biological brothers and two cousins had come along.
Ying Zhi introduced Suisui to each brother:
“This is the eldest brother, Ying Da.”
“Second brother, Ying Er.”
The Ying brothers had lost their given names and were now referred to as Ying Da through Ying San, with a Su Si in between.
Suisui didn’t understand why the brothers had different surnames but didn’t ask, dutifully greeting each one.
After introducing everyone, Ying Zhi cheerfully said, “We have a fifth brother too, but he’s sick right now. I’ll introduce him to you next time.”
“In addition to these brothers, I have many cousins. I’ll introduce them to you when we meet them.”
“Don’t worry, Suisui. Even though we’re the same age, I’ll protect you because I’m older!”
Though Suisui and Ying Zhi were the same age, Ying Zhi was born earlier, making her slightly older.
With Ying Zhi’s companionship, the Ying family’s attitude was very good.

Following it were flames and thick smoke rising into the sky.

The Grand Princess was anxious to find out and hurriedly got into the carriage after bidding farewell.
Qi Wangfei, startled by the explosion and seeing the thick smoke, gently held the startled Suisui, comforting her: “Don’t be afraid, don’t be afraid, Suisui. It’s alright.”
Meanwhile, the Ying children had already boarded the carriage.
The little girl at the back kept waving to Suisui: “Suisui, let’s play together next time!”
Suisui, calmed by Qi Wangfei’s comfort, responded to the pretty sister’s farewell with a shy, sweet smile: “Goodbye, sister Qiao Qiao.”
