Chapter 124: Is Xiao Fu Bao Disliked? The Whole City Loves Me With Their Lives

Chapter 124: Practice More with Vegetables

Suisui was so anxious she nearly broke free from Qi Wangfei’s grasp. Seeing her little sister so concerned for her sixth brother, Qi Wangfei couldn’t help but smile. However, there was no need for a younger sibling to intervene in the playful tussles of older boys.

Gently stroking Suisui's hand, Qi Wangfei pointed into the distance and said, “Don’t worry, your brothers are just sparring. If you go over to help, it’ll embarrass them and give Seventh Brother a chance to tease your brother. There’s no need for you to get involved. They’re all brothers; they won’t be too harsh on each other. They’ve always done this.”

As Qi Wangfei explained, Suisui slowly began to understand. Perhaps this was just a part of their physical training? She pondered for a while but couldn’t quite grasp it.

However, since her mother said it was fine, it must be okay, right? Suisui stood on her tiptoes to peer into the distance, noticing that her two brothers quickly got back up and continued running, looking perfectly fine. She finally relaxed.

Throughout the afternoon, the Feng brothers engaged in frequent two-on-two sparring. They didn’t hit hard, but it still hurt enough to elicit cries of pain when they finished.

“Remember to rub your sore spots when you get home; we’ll continue tomorrow,” Teacher Shen admonished, his brow twitching at their cries.

The Feng brothers collectively sighed in despair.

Help!

While the other brothers fared okay, Feng Xuanrui hadn’t practiced for over a month and felt stiff all over. Hearing Teacher Shen’s words, he immediately sulked.

Suisui watched with concern and gently approached to help her brother massage his legs. “Brother, is it still sore? Does it hurt? I learned some techniques from Grandpa Liu and can help you.”

What could a child learn? It was just some surface knowledge.

Even so, Feng Xuanrui was deeply touched. He held Suisui’s arm, whining and making all sorts of noise.

Feng Xuanbin saw this and squeezed over, grabbing Suisui's other hand to join in the chorus of moans.

The two brothers combined their wails into a cacophony that sounded more like wild animals than humans.

Feng Xuanbo looked on, feeling left out. He stood there, banging on his arms while making sarcastic comments.

Feng Xuanjie, being shy, didn’t join in but his cute, puppy-dog eyes couldn’t help but flit back and forth, as if he were busy but didn’t know what to do.

Feng Xuangcang tried to comfort Feng Xuanbo, telling him to stop, as the ruckus was giving him a headache.

But Feng Xuanbo ignored him, dragging him into the fray to settle the matter.

“Help!”

“Eldest Brother, Second Brother, please hurry back to the manor; I can’t handle this!”

As evening fell, after some more ruckus, the brothers finally packed up to head home.

Feng Xuangcang, tired of the noise, insisted he would ride back to the city with Teacher Shen.

Feng Xuanjie wanted to go too, but after some contemplation, he realized his riding skills weren’t great. He feared that if something happened, their mother would worry all night, and so he reluctantly gave up.

Just before boarding the carriage, he stole glances at his third brother riding with poise.

So cool!

He resolved to eat more to grow stronger; surely that would improve his riding skills!

The younger brothers, not thinking about riding, were simply excited to squeeze into the carriage with their little sister.

Qi Wangfei almost got squeezed out by the bunch.

As they made their way home, they encountered Prince Qing, who was leaving the city at night. Qi Wangfei wasn’t sure if he had official business, but she exchanged a few pleasantries and mentioned Suisui to ease his mind.

Prince Qing had been busy these last few days.

After returning to the capital, although he had reported various matters to the Emperor, he still had other tasks requiring his attention. Tonight, he had received some clues and needed to head out of the city with his men.

Even amid his busyness, Prince Qing hadn’t forgotten about Suisui and the sixth young master. Seeing them now, he naturally wanted to inquire.

When he heard from the princess that Suisui was doing well, he felt relieved.

Feng Xuanrui popped his head out of the carriage and called, “Uncle Wang, I’m good now! Just my arms are a bit sore!”

Prince Qing nodded, his expression serious. “Then practice more.”

Feng Xuanrui: …!

He knew it!

Hmph!

The young boy sulked and retreated back into the carriage.

Feng Xuanbin, upon hearing Prince Qing’s voice, was too scared to show his face.

He thought Prince Qing seemed too fierce and was afraid he might eat children if angry.

So, he decided to hide from sight.

Suisui, though also feeling Prince Qing was a bit scary, remembered his past kindness. She popped her little head out, her eyes bright, and said, “Uncle Wang!”

Seeing her shining eyes, chubby cheeks, and the cute dimple on her lip, Prince Qing momentarily lost his train of thought.

Her soft voice snapped him back to reality. He quickly nodded at Suisui. “Suisui, make sure to eat more.”

In the past, Prince Qing would never have known how to talk to children. But after spending some time with Physician Liu, he had learned a few gentle phrases.

Suisui nodded obediently. “I know, Uncle.”

Qi Wangfei listened and gently stroked Suisui’s head. “Suisui, you should call him Uncle; he’s your royal uncle.”

Suisui didn’t quite grasp the distinction but trusted her mother completely. She quickly responded with a cheerful, “Uncle Wang!”

Once Qi Wangfei mentioned it, Prince Qing understood that his sister-in-law was likely acknowledging Suisui as part of the family.

With that, his previously anxious heart felt at ease.

As for his unreliable brother…

His opinion wasn’t particularly important anyway.

Prince Qing had learned enough during his two days back in the capital.

He was already used to hearing about his brother’s child being born at a villa.

Now, he didn’t mention it further to avoid distressing Qi Wangfei.

Prince Qing had matters to attend to and excused himself.

Qi Wangfei politely urged him to stay safe before signaling for the carriage to move on.

After they had gone a bit further, Feng Xuanbin quietly crept over to Suisui's side. “Sister, you’re so brave to talk to Uncle Wang!”

Suisui, not understanding, tilted her head and asked, “Why shouldn’t I talk to Uncle Wang?”
