**Chapter 140: Whoever Wants to Take Care of Them, Go Ahead**

After pulling the rambunctious Madam Yan back, Madam Sun smiled and called a few children to head home.

Ying Junzhi was feeling particularly exhausted from taking care of the kids. Except for the second brother, who was well-behaved and wouldn’t wander off, the other brothers were like monkeys released from a cage—completely uncontrollable. They ran here and there.

As the eldest brother, he had to keep an eye on them while also watching over the three little girls eating. Children were still young and could easily choke; the thought of one choking or even dying made him anxious.

Ying Junzhi felt overwhelmed at such a young age. This was much harder than the fireworks and gunpowder he usually researched!

He just wanted to get back home.

Although Suisui was adorable, he realized he really couldn't handle babysitting.

If it were just Suisui, he could manage. But with the other brothers and especially with Ying Zhi added to the mix, he thought, "Let whoever wants to take care of them do it!"

When he heard their grandmother calling them, Ying Junzhi hurriedly gathered Ying Ningzhi and the others to leave. He held onto Ying Ningzhi and Su Xiangzhi with one hand while grabbing the visually impaired Ying Chengzhi with the other.

Ying Zhi was left behind. Since she didn’t listen to her brother, Ying Junzhi didn’t force it but turned back to remind her, “Grandmother is calling us; we should go back.”

Without hesitation, Ying Zhi refused, “I’m not going back.”

Ying Junzhi: …

He wasn’t surprised by her response. He figured if he couldn’t persuade her, he’d let their grandmother handle it.

However, upon hearing his sister’s refusal, Ying Ningzhi immediately broke free from Ying Junzhi’s grip and exclaimed, “I’m not going back either!”

As he spoke, he quickly ran over to a chair, grabbed a plum, and popped it into his mouth.

After watching Suisui enjoy the plums for a while, Ying Ningzhi thought they must taste better than those at home.

As he chewed, he glanced at Suisui and said, “Sister, I’m eating plums too!”

Suisui was still chewing her own plum, working on it diligently.

Having spit out the pit, she had the fruit’s flesh rolling around in her mouth.

Seeing Ying Ningzhi eat, Suisui obediently nodded, placing her little hands on her lap, looking as cute as a pet raccoon.

Ying Ningzhi felt a sudden urge to pinch her cheeks.

But faster than him was Ying Zhi, who reached over to scratch Suisui’s chin and said, “Sister, you’re so soft!”

Suisui let her do it, enjoying the gentle affection.

Ying Zhi was not only sweet but also kind enough to share lotus flower pastries with her.

Suisui liked her loud yet tender sister.

Seeing Suisui’s adorable demeanor, Ying Ningzhi squeezed in next to them and, using his chubby little hands, pushed Ying Zhi aside to also scratch Suisui’s chin.

However, he wasn’t gentle, and his roughness caused Suisui to let out a small gasp, “…ouch.”

She had tried to hold it in but couldn’t.

This sound startled both Ying Zhi and Ying Ningzhi.

Ying Zhi, who had been sitting, jumped up and turned to look at Suisui’s chin, “Suisui, lift your head so I can see!”

Suisui obediently raised her chin, revealing a red mark from Ying Ningzhi’s nail.

Although Suisui hadn’t gained much weight, her skin was well taken care of; she had a naturally fair complexion, and children’s skin was tender.

Ying Ningzhi thought he hadn’t pressed too hard, but during their playful tussle, his sharp nail had inadvertently scratched her chin, leaving a mark.

Ying Zhi looked worried. “That must hurt! Don’t worry, I’ll blow on it for you.”

She had always been treated with care by the maidservants when she got hurt, so she thought this would soothe Suisui’s pain. She leaned closer and gently blew on Suisui’s chin.

Suisui felt a ticklish sensation and instinctively shrank back.

When Liu Hemeng saw Ying Zhi jump down, she came over and noticed the mark too.

Feeling concerned, she rummaged through her sleeve and pulled out a small box of ointment. “Qiao Qiao, let me have a look. I have some ointment to apply to Suisui.”

Hearing there was ointment, Ying Zhi moved aside to make space for Liu Hemeng.

The ointment Liu Hemeng had wasn’t exactly the best for this issue, but it had a calming effect.

So it would be somewhat useful.

With mint added to the ointment, it felt cool when applied.

Suisui felt another tickle and tried to pull her neck back.

Ying Zhi, watching closely, gently supported Suisui’s head, saying, “Suisui, be good, don’t move; it’ll be over soon.”

Ying Ningzhi realized he had made a mistake and stood there obediently, his shoulders slightly hunched.

Madam Sun thought calling out once would gather the children, but after this brief moment, another situation arose.

She felt exhausted and helpless.

However, since the child was hurt, she had to check on her.

Taking Madam Yan with her, she carefully examined Suisui.

Children often had minor injuries from their daily activities, and as long as they weren’t serious, they usually healed quickly.

Some small cuts would mend without ointment.

However, due to their noble status, even minor issues tended to be exaggerated.

Moreover, since they were children who had faced hardships in the past, Madam Sun bent down and softly asked, “Suisui, does it still hurt? Can Auntie take a look?”

Madam Yan, standing nearby, observed for a moment before blurted out, “No need to check; it’s just a little scratch. It’ll be fine soon!”

Madam Sun shot her a glare.

Madam Yan didn’t understand, but she wasn’t foolish enough to ask, “Why are you glaring at me?”

She reasoned that the mark was indeed small.

Children healed quickly, and by afternoon, the mark would likely be gone.

Madam Sun didn’t want to explain.

If it were her own child, of course, there would be no issue.

But they were guests in someone else’s home, and they had to show some concern for the injured child—that was the least they could do!

This was basic etiquette!

Yet explaining this to Madam Yan was futile, as she wouldn’t understand or care to listen.

Madam Sun didn’t want to waste her energy repeatedly explaining.

The red mark had stung a bit when first scratched, and now with the ointment, it felt itchy, but it was no longer painful.

Hearing her aunt’s concern, Suisui quickly lifted her chin and softly replied, “It’s okay, it doesn’t hurt anymore. Auntie, don’t worry.”
