**Chapter 135: Ying Qiaoqiao Slays All**

Ying Zhi had just been brought back, with her slow-moving second brother following behind. After running for a while, she was sweating, and her hair had come undone. A servant was trying to persuade her to tidy up.

However, the little girl was not pleased. She casually tossed her hair behind her, noticed something was off, and hurriedly asked, “What’s wrong? What happened?”

Ying Junzhi, seeing that Ying Ning had realized something and was scared, sighed and explained to Ying Zhi, “Third Brother just pulled Suisui’s hat. That hat was tied around Suisui’s neck; thankfully, it was loosened beforehand. Otherwise…”

Ying Zhi understood without needing the rest of the explanation.

She patiently listened to her older brother and then turned to smile at the stunned Ying Ning.

This smile was all too familiar to him.

Seeing it, he instinctively wanted to run.

However, Ying Zhi was much quicker than his reaction!

The little girl was well-fed, strong, and athletic for her age, and though she was shorter than Ying Ning, her agile movements were impressive.

After smiling, she jumped up and gave Third Brother a hard knock on the head. “That’s what you get for pulling hats! What if you hurt Suisui? Are you going to pay for it?”

As she raged on, the noise brought the adults out of the room.

Madam Sun rushed out, looked at the scene, and quietly turned back, pulling Madam Yan’s hand to leave.

The Grand Princess remained calm; after all, the kids in the household were always making noise, and she was used to it. Since they were in someone else’s house, it wouldn’t do to cause too much commotion.

The younger kids might not understand the rules as well, but with Ying Junzhi around, the Grand Princess felt reassured.

Seeing the two daughters-in-law enter with calm expressions, the Grand Princess thought, “It should be fine, right?”

The Qi Wangfei, on the other hand, was quite worried. Suisui was still young, without anyone to protect her, and she feared she might be bullied.

After Madam Sun entered, she smiled and said, “It’s Qiaoqiao playing with her third brother.”

Childish scuffles are just play, after all.

Madam Yan  chimed in, “Yes, yes! She’s really going at his head, making quite the noise!”

Madam Sun: …!

“I should’ve just covered your mouth!”

The Grand Princess, hearing this, pretended to cover her face with a handkerchief.

If it weren’t for the need to show goodwill and formality, she really wouldn’t want to deal with this second daughter-in-law!

What was she saying?

Can’t you keep quiet for a moment?

And she couldn’t express this in front of everyone, either.

After all, she couldn’t predict how Yan Shi would respond.

So she decided to endure for now.

The Grand Princess grit her teeth, thinking: she’s raised a grandson and a great-grandson, so it wouldn’t be right to be the bad guy now, pressuring her son to divorce his wife.

After all, he married her because he liked her.

Divorce?

Ha!

Wouldn’t that force her to ask her son: Do you want a wife or your mother?

The Grand Princess thought: Am I such a heinous person?

To do something like that?

Upon realizing that Suisui wasn’t being bullied, Qi Wangfei felt somewhat reassured, though she didn’t want to show it.

Madam Sun, worried her sister-in-law might say something shocking, quickly shifted the topic. “I heard Suisui was brought back from Qingzhou. Speaking of which, my brother is in Qingzhou.”

Madam Sun’s brother was the Prefect Magistrate Sun.

Of course, Qi Wangfei knew this and smiled, responding, “The young master from Prefect Magistrate Sun’s house knows Suisui and Xiao Liu. They played together for two days and even sent Suisui two boxes of gifts before parting.”

Madam Sun had merely wanted to change the topic, but upon hearing something related to her family, she became interested and smiled, “They must have quite the bond. I haven’t seen Lin Ge’er in years. I wonder how he’s doing now.”

Sun Ronglin?

Physician Liu had mentioned him briefly.

Qi Wangfei thought for a moment before speaking, “I heard he’s a solid boy with a good temperament.”

Hearing the child was doing well, Madam Sun sighed with relief, “As long as the child is good. The couple has been married for over ten years and finally has this one child. Now I can rest easy.”

The adults in the room came and went.

Ying Zhi, not looking back after knocking Ying Ning on the head, directly pointed at Suisui. “Give the hat back to your sister and apologize!”

With the household’s tyrant speaking up, Ying Ning dared not resist.

Moreover, after Ying Junzhi’s explanation and Ying Zhi’s strong reaction, Ying Ning finally realized the seriousness of the issue.

He thought, thankfully, the hat had been loosened in time.

Now, his arrogance had vanished, and he approached Suisui with tiny, hesitant steps.

Feeling awkward, he first apologized, “I’m sorry, Suisui. Third Brother didn’t mean to; I just had a clumsy hand. Will you forgive me?”

After saying this, he felt it might not be sufficient.

Thinking a moment longer, he shook his head, “Well, if you can’t forgive me, that’s okay. Just don’t hate me. I’ll put your hat back on; don’t be scared, I promise I won’t pull your hat again!”

Suisui had just come back to her senses from the chilly feeling on her head when she realized her hat was gone!

Where was it?

Seeing the hat in Ying Ning’s hand, Suisui confusedly touched her face. How did her hat end up with him?

She hadn’t even felt it being taken!

It was like a breeze had blown past, and then it was just gone?

Then she saw Ying Zhi knock Ying Ning.

Suisui’s mouth fell open, completely taken aback. Was it really okay for a girl to hit a young master like that?

In her village, she had never seen anything like it.

Although her aunt treated her cousin well, if her cousin dared to bully her brothers—even just poking them—her aunt would scold her harshly and sometimes even hit her directly.

Ying Zhi’s actions had completely upended Suisui’s worldview.

She thought, maybe the capital isn’t quite like she imagined.

At this moment, Suisui vaguely understood what Lele had said to her.

“Suisui, you should go out and see the different scenery, the different world.”

The more people you see, the more you understand human hearts.

The more experiences you have, the more you understand life.

Although the capital was a completely unfamiliar place, and she didn’t know the people here, Suisui felt…

The capital is great.

At least, it was better than her old village.

She couldn’t quite explain why it was better, but living here felt more comfortable.

As she snapped back to reality after witnessing Ying Zhi’s fierce actions, she saw Ying Ning coming over to apologize.

Suisui was a bit flustered at first, wondering if she deserved it.

But looking at Qiaoqiao, Mengmeng, and the other brothers, all with expressions of “it’s only natural for a child to admit wrongdoing and apologize,” she began to feel…

Maybe she did deserve it.

Otherwise, why did everyone look so supportive?
