Chapter 133: The Ying Family Starts Having Fun

Suisui became lost in the praises, spinning the bamboo leaf dragonfly round and round.

Liu He Meng was happy to encourage her.

While at home, she often competed with her brother for playtime, but here, she was happy to let Suisui take the lead.

Liu He Meng thought, how could she not let her adorable little sister shine?

Aunt Qiu smiled as she approached the two children and explained the situation to Physician Liu.

Liu He Meng had played with Ying Zhi before; while they could be noisy, they got along well, so Physician Liu didn’t object.

Aunt Qiu then carefully explained to Suisui, “Sister Qiao Qiao is here to play; do you want to see Sister Qiao Qiao?”

Sister Qiao Qiao?

The little girl with the pink headband, as carefree as the wind?

Suisui not only liked her but also envied her.

When Aunt Qiu asked, she nodded eagerly, “I like her.”

Feeling that these words were insufficient to express her feelings, Suisui thought for a moment and nodded again, “I like her very much.”

Liu He Meng, watching Suisui’s expression, felt a pang of jealousy.

She wanted to ask, did Suisui like Qiao Qiao or her more?

But not wanting to put Suisui in a tough spot, Liu He Meng sighed silently in her heart, thinking: I’m such a thoughtful and gentle big sister.

Suisui liked her, and Liu He Meng didn’t mind, so Aunt Qiu soon took the two children over.

When they reached the Grand Princess, Suisui and Liu He Meng first greeted their elders respectfully, receiving their approval before standing properly.

Suisui hadn’t formally started learning etiquette, so her greetings were all taught by Aunt Qiu on the spot.

Qi Wangfei thought, this should be addressed soon.

There’s no rush for the small classroom, but the child needs to learn proper etiquette.

I wonder how things are going with Aunt Chi and Su Yi Niang?

If all is well, she planned to transfer her over.

Seeing Suisui, Ying Zhi’s eyes lit up even more, her voice resonating, “Suisui, Sister!!!”

Suisui felt the sound was too loud, ringing in her ears.

But she didn’t dare say anything.

In fact, she envied such a bold voice.

Suisui thought that Sister Qiao Qiao must be loved by many people to be so free and loud.

She wanted to be like that too.

But she didn’t dare.

Ying Zhi happily rushed over, reaching out to pat Suisui's little head.

As she got closer, she noticed, wait?

Her little sister was wearing a particularly cute hat today.

The tassels on either side swayed as Suisui moved, looking playful and adorable.

It certainly caught the attention of any child nearby.

Ying Zhi’s eyes were immediately drawn to those swinging tassels.

She even slowed her blinking, just watching them sway.

Once Ying Zhi was close enough to reach the tassels, she realized,

Well, if I can’t touch the little bald head, a tassel is good too!

Feeling that they were already familiar, Ying Zhi didn’t hesitate and reached out.

Suisui obediently let her touch, even narrowing her eyes in enjoyment.

While patting her, Ying Zhi asked loudly, “Have you been well these past few days, Suisui?”

Before she could hear Suisui’s reply, Liu He Meng cheerfully walked over. “I’m doing great! How about you, Ying Pi Pi?”

Ying Zhi: …!

I forgot about Liu Meng Meng.

Ying Zhi rolled her eyes at Liu He Meng, pretending to be annoyed. “Who asked you, Liu Dan Dan?”

Does she think she’s the only one with a nickname?

Liu He Meng ignored her, retorting, “What about you? You’re the one who got stuck on the roof last time and cried for help, you little coward!”

…

The two girls immediately began to spar verbally.

But that didn’t stop them from quickly gathering around Suisui to play with the bamboo leaf dragonfly.

“Suisui, Sister Qiao Qiao says she played well; I spun higher than Liu Dan Dan!”

“Nonsense! I spun higher!”

…

The two sisters, competitive as ever, prepared to take turns showing off.

Suisui, in the middle, watched them bicker, still eager to join in the fun.

Liu He Meng and Ying Zhi squeezed together, playfully jostling each other as they made their way to the yard.

Ying Zhi, eager to show off, raised her hand and declared, “I’ll go first!”

Liu He Meng protested, “No way! I’m older, I should go first!”

Seeing this, Ying Zhi refused to back down. “No, I’m louder! I’ll go first!”

…

The two little girls quickly began arguing.

During their bickering, each of them used one hand to cover Suisui’s ears, worried about disturbing the little sister.

From a distance, the Grand Princess watched this scene, her earlier worries easing a bit.

She turned to see Qi Wangfei smiling gently at Suisui, thinking: Although the Prince isn’t reliable, Qi Wangfei is good.

Her eye for children is impeccable.

Suisui…

Though unfortunate, she’s a good child.

The Grand Princess was quite fond of her.

Even more so, because the child had avoided disaster during that stay at the manor, she found herself having a better impression of Suisui.

Initially, it was just because she found the child’s bright eyes captivating, and thanks to the persuasion of Qi Wangfei, she stayed.

Ultimately, it all relates back to this child.

Now, seeing Suisui in a good home brought the Grand Princess joy.

The Qi Wangfei, beautiful and kind, would take good care of this child.

As for the Prince Qi, who was busy elsewhere…

Thinking of her nephew, the Grand Princess felt disheartened. What was the point of thinking of him when things were going well?

Ying Zhi was all smiles, ready to play, while the boys were already restless.

Having played well with Suisui last time, seeing the little girl naturally made them happy.

Each of them peered over, not daring to approach without their grandmother’s permission.

In the end, it was Madam Sun who couldn’t bear to watch anymore. She turned around, smiling, and asked the Grand Princess, “Mother, shall we let the kids go play for a while?”

The Grand Princess, tired of seeing them fidgeting, waved her hand, granting them permission to play.

Ying Jun Zhi led his brothers with cheers and rushed outside.

Seeing their unreliable behavior, the Grand Princess felt uneasy and reminded, “Ying Jun Zhi, take care of your siblings; no fighting!”

The boy ran off swiftly, leaving only his back to her. He replied loudly, but the Grand Princess wasn’t sure if he heard her.

She had originally planned to say more, but considering the kids had been spooked by the recent explosion, she felt it was good for them to let loose and enjoy themselves for a bit.

So, she let it slide for now.

The Grand Princess’s great-grandchildren included Ying Jun Zhi, the eldest at twelve, quite a mature boy.

Of course, to the Grand Princess, his maturity was only skin deep; he could still be a headache when provoked.

Yet, as the elder brother, he sometimes did take on responsibilities, ensuring his younger siblings didn’t get too out of hand.

The third son, Ying Ning Zhi, and the fourth son, Su Xiang Zhi, were eight and six, respectively, both at that playful age.

The problem was, both were at that innocent age, speaking without thinking.

When they got together, their banter could be quite amusing.

As the two boys rushed in, they aimed to snatch the bamboo leaf dragonfly.

Not that they didn’t have their own, but someone else’s always seemed more enticing.

Seeing her brothers arrive, Ying Zhi knew: Here comes the fun!

Ying Ning Zhi and Su Xiang Zhi were after her dragonfly, so Ying Zhi turned to run.

Don’t underestimate the little girl; she had plenty of stamina.

As she ran, she would turn back and throw punches at her brothers, sometimes missing but often landing a hit on their stomachs or chests.

Ying Ning Zhi, a bit chubby, didn’t mind the hits at all and only laughed harder.

But Su Xiang Zhi, being smaller and pickier about food, couldn’t take it. “I’m not running anymore, I’m going to play with my sister!”

After declaring that, he turned and ran towards Suisui.

Ying Zhi took off with the dragonfly, leaving Suisui wide-eyed in surprise.

Especially after those punches, Suisui’s eyes widened even more, her little mouth agape, looking like a startled kitten.

Seeing this, Su Xiang Zhi jumped up with joy, shouting, “Cute little sister, I’m coming!”

His antics were quite daunting.

Suisui instinctively took a few steps back, quietly hiding behind Liu He Meng.

Liu He Meng had intended to chase after Ying Zhi but stayed put, thinking of Suisui, who looked scared.

Now, seeing Su Xiang Zhi charge at them like a monkey swinging, she quickly spread her arms and shouted, “Stop! No one’s allowed to bully my sister!”
