**Chapter 136: Big Brother Is Not a Stranger**

Seeing Suisui unmoving, Ying Ning felt a pang of uncertainty. He took a couple of steps forward to close the distance and leaned in, tentatively asking, “Sister, it’s okay if you don’t want to forgive Third Brother. Can you let me help you put the hat back on? Otherwise, your head might get cold.”

After asking, he noticed Suisui just looking at him silently, which made him even more anxious. However, he couldn’t help but be curious, “But, Sister, where’s your hair?”

In a child’s mind, everyone has hair.

Suisui had some, but it was just a bit of fuzz, like a newborn.

Could someone have cut her hair?

Thinking of this possibility, Ying Ning’s expression grew stern as he pretended to be fierce, saying, “Don’t be scared, Sister! If anyone bullies you, just come to Third Brother. I’ll help you deal with them!”

Ying Ning puffed out his little belly proudly, almost boasting: Who in the capital is afraid of me?

Ying Zhi had initially planned to wait for her brother to apologize before comforting her sister and playing together.

But now, Ying Ning was showing off?

His fists might be strong, but were they stronger than hers?

Having already defeated him once, Ying Zhi was the first to challenge him.

So she angrily marched over, snatched the hat from Ying Ning’s hand, and turned to Suisui, smiling as if she hadn’t just been angry moments ago.

Ying Zhi was very gentle with her sister: “Don’t be afraid, Suisui! I’m here! Don’t worry, my fists are the strongest in the capital!”

As she spoke, she gently placed the hat back on Suisui’s head.

The cool breeze disappeared, and only then did Suisui realize what had happened.

Looking up, she met Qiaoqiao’s warm gaze. Further back, her brothers had various expressions, mostly concern.

Especially Ying Ning, who looked both regretful and helpless, his chubby face pitifully glancing at her, easily softening her heart.

Seeing this, Suisui gently waved her hand, her tone hurried: “Third Brother, I’m not upset with you. I just didn’t react in time.”

Suisui wasn’t very good with words, and after thinking for a long time, she couldn’t organize her thoughts properly, making her eyes a bit red with anxiety.

Ying Zhi watched, gently patting Suisui’s slightly chubby face, smiling, “Don’t rush, Suisui. Just tell me what you want to say. It’s perfectly normal to be upset with Third Brother; it’s his fault for being careless!”

Suisui didn’t know how to respond to this, merely shaking her head gently to indicate that she was fine and really didn’t blame Ying Ning.

Seeing that his sister wasn’t angry anymore, Ying Ning felt rejuvenated.

He had been hesitant to get too close, fearing he might have scared her, but now he squeezed over and cheerfully said, “It’s great that you’re not mad, Sister! I’ll give you my hat to wear later, but it’s one I had when I was little. I don’t know if it will fit you.”

He thought about this for a moment but didn’t reach any conclusions.

Ying Zhi, overhearing this, rolled her eyes: “What’s so great about your old, stinky hat?”

After retorting to her brother, Ying Zhi turned back and smiled, “Don’t worry, Suisui. I have lots of beautiful, new hats that I haven’t worn yet. I’ll pick some out for you, and you can choose whichever one you like!”

When she said “new” and “never worn,” she emphasized those words, making her sarcasm quite clear.

Ying Ning pretended not to hear her, pouting stubbornly: “Why is mine stinky? It smells nice and clean! And just because you have new hats doesn’t mean I don’t! Mine even has a gem on it!”

Ying Zhi didn’t even glance at him: “As if that’s rare? What’s so special about a gem?”

Ying Ning: …!

The boy’s face turned red with anger, but he couldn’t argue with Ying Zhi, so he finally crossed his arms, glaring at Ying Junzhi, “Big Brother, look at this!”

Ying Junzhi stood to the side, amused as he watched his younger siblings bicker.

After seeing Ying Ning apologize, he took a couple of steps forward and gently asked Suisui, “Does your neck hurt? Did Third Brother hurt you when he pulled the hat?”

Since it was his brother who had caused the issue, he felt it was his responsibility to ensure everything was okay.

Although Ying Junzhi was still just a young man himself, he carried himself with a gentlemanly demeanor, his aura warm and gentle like afternoon sunlight.

If Ying Zhi was like the radiant morning sun, then Ying Junzhi resembled the comforting warmth of midday light.

Suisui felt a great sense of comfort from him.

As he gently inquired, his gaze was soft and attentive.

Feeling bashful under his gaze, Suisui bit her lip and shook her head lightly, “It doesn’t hurt. I’m fine.”

After hearing that the little girl was okay, Ying Junzhi carefully checked Suisui’s chin and behind her ears, noticing there were no marks left, which made him truly feel relieved.

He gently adjusted her hat, lowering his voice, “What kind of little hat do you like? After Big Brother goes back, I’ll find someone to buy one just for you. How about that?”

After thinking his question might not seem sincere enough, Ying Junzhi added, “A new one, just for Suisui. How does that sound?”

His tone was as gentle as a spring breeze, brushing softly against Suisui’s ears and heart.

Suisui thought, this brother is so kind.

Looking up curiously at her big brother, she met his sincere gaze and thought…

What Big Brother said must be true, right?

For a child, a hat that belongs to you and is brand new is indeed very tempting.

Suisui wanted to agree but remembered Lele’s advice about not asking for things from others.

Lele had said that this is politeness.

Sometimes, when someone offers something, it’s just a courtesy, and if you accept it, it could create awkwardness.

Thinking of this, Suisui shook her head gently, “No, thank you, Big Brother.”

Seeing her initially wanting to nod but then shaking her head, Ying Junzhi felt both helpless and a bit pained.

He reached out to gently pat Suisui’s head, his tone still very gentle: “If you like it, just say so. Big Brother is not a stranger.”
