Chapter 125: Is Xiao Fu Bao Disliked? The Whole City Loves Me With Their Lives
Chapter 125: The Noise is Making People Dizzy
Feng Xuanbin was momentarily stunned by Sui Sui’s question.
He sat there blankly, and after a long pause, muttered, “Sister, don’t you think Uncle Wang is a bit scary?”
Suisui agreed, nodding her head obediently. “He is scary.”
After saying that, she quickly added, “But Uncle Wang is a good person.”
He had saved them when they were nearly attacked by bandits, shooting an arrow like a divine hero. She had always remembered her lifesaver.
Feng Xuanbin also knew that Uncle Wang was a good person, especially since he often brought them snacks.
But he was still too scary!
He wanted to say more, but was interrupted by Feng Xuanrui, who was still upset. He sat there, hands on his hips, defiantly asking Feng Xuanbin, “Am I weak?”
Uncle Wang’s meaning was simple: if you’re weak, practice more.
But Feng Xuanrui didn’t think he was weak! Seventh Brother was clearly the worst; he couldn’t be last!
Feng Xuanbin was momentarily at a loss.
Should he tell the truth, or tell the truth?
After a long pause, he finally nodded.
Feng Xuanrui felt crushed and began to wrestle with him.
Qi Wangfei watched from the side, her temples throbbing. “In the carriage!”
She reminded them, and the two boys temporarily separated.
Yet neither was willing to back down.
Suisui stood in the middle, unsure of whom to persuade.
But her brother were the most important. After thinking it over, she stepped in front of Feng Xuanrui and said softly, “Seventh Brother, you can’t bully Brother.”
Feng Xuanbin: ?
Being treated differently by his sister again?
Feeling wronged, he started to cry.
At his young age, he didn’t understand many things.
In his mind, if something felt off, crying was the solution!
His cries only angered Feng Xuanrui further. “You’re weak and you still cry?”
Feng Xuanbin knew he was weak, but he didn’t want to admit it. He stubbornly cried out, “I’m not weak! I’m strong!”
“You are weak! You’re the weakest!”
“Impossible!”
…
The two boys shifted from fighting to arguing, and Qi Wangfei felt her left ear ringing and her right ear buzzing.
She shifted her position twice but couldn’t escape the noise.
Finally, she picked up Suisui and gently stroked her head to alleviate the discomfort from the piercing sounds.
She thought to herself: Next time, I should just let those boys ride in the carriage by themselves.
In this cramped space, they wouldn’t make a sound if they just sat still.
Who could endure this?
Unlike her Suisui, who was just too well-behaved!
Looking at Suisui’s ’s obedient demeanor, Qi Wangfei couldn’t help but worry: Would this child be too obedient?
When she goes out, will she be bullied?
Some people just like to pick on well-behaved kids.
Suisui hadn’t had the chance to go out yet, but Qi Wangfei was already fretting over future situations.
She even felt that the little classroom in the palace wasn’t entirely safe.
Would these boys lead Sui Sui astray when she wasn’t around?
…
By the time they returned home, Qi Wangfei’s heart was still unsettled.
When they got back, it was already dark.
The young masters of the Prince residence usually returned home for meals, either dining together in the East Courtyard or going to their mother’s courtyard to enjoy her cooking.
Sometimes they came to the main courtyard to eat.
Generally, when the prince was in the manor, he would call the children over for dinner to strengthen their bond and check on their studies.
For the past few days, the brothers had been eating in the main courtyard for a simple reason.
One was that Sixth Brother hadn’t been home for a long time, and everyone missed him.
The other reason, of course, was Suisui.
With their little sister dining there, they felt bold enough to join.
Tonight's main dish was fish noodles, meticulously prepared by the chefs all afternoon.
In addition, there were some side dishes and stir-fried vegetables.
If it was just Qi Wangfei eating in her courtyard, her meals would be quite bland, with little oil.
But when the children came over, she always had the kitchen prepare more meat dishes.
The most eye-catching dish tonight was, of course...
Grilled suckling pig slices.
The farm had produced over forty piglets recently, so it was only natural to enjoy some of the earlier piglets.
Qi Wangfei had mentioned this yesterday, and the chefs took it to heart, preparing it today.
They selected the fatty and lean cuts, carefully eliminating any gamey flavors, marinated them, and controlled the heat over charcoal, flipping them constantly as they roasted.
Once the aroma wafted through the air, they brushed it with honey before putting it back on the grill.
Finally, when the edges turned slightly charred and golden, they took it off and plated it.
The slices of fatty pork and lean meat had a rich, delightful aroma. After being grilled over high heat, the excess fat melted away, leaving only a mouthwatering fragrance trapped within the delicate layers.
With each bite, the meat was tender and fragrant, simply irresistible.
The lean meat had just the right amount of sinew left.
After being grilled, it retained only the fresh, savory aroma of the meat.
Eating it didn’t feel greasy at all, and the chefs had done an excellent job; the lean meat was tender and flavorful, not dry at all.
As soon as the dish was served, it sparked lively discussions among everyone.
The young masters of the Wang residence, used to various delicacies, usually would have looked down on such dishes.
However, after a long afternoon of training, they were all starving and could have eaten a whole cow.
With the delicious food in front of them, they couldn’t hold back.
“This is great, it smells amazing!”
“I want this!!”
…
While they all exclaimed eagerly, their actions remained orderly; nobody lost their manners as they rushed to eat.
They washed their hands, tidied themselves up, and found their seats, eagerly looking at Qi Wangfei.
She had just helped Suisui wash her hands, cradling her over to sit beside her and adjusting the cushions underneath the little girl.
Suisui was still too small; even with the thick cushion, she struggled to reach the table.
Qi Wangfei felt troubled, thinking she should have someone customize a chair for her.
It pained her to see Suisui struggle to eat.
Just as she finished arranging Suisui, she turned to find five pairs of hungry, wolf-like eyes fixed on her, glimmering with eagerness and a hint of desperation.
This made her smile helplessly. “Go ahead and eat.”
