Chapter 105: Is Xiao Fu Bao Disliked? The Whole City Loves Me With Their Lives
**Chapter 105: Whose Hair is Better?**
Feng Xuanrui had been active all morning, and the small amount of lunch he had earlier was already digested. On the way back, he heard that there was sweet cake and red bean soup today, so he chatted with Feng Xuanbin about it.
Upon entering the room and hearing Suisui’s voice, Feng Xuanrui immediately abandoned Feng Xuanbin and happily walked towards Suisui, “Big Brother is here. Suisui, did you drink the red bean soup?”
Suisui nodded enthusiastically, “Yes, it was sweet and really delicious!”
At that moment, Qi Wangfei had just finished wiping Suisui’s mouth and let the little girl be free.
Suisui slid off her chair and went to hold her brother’s hand.
Feng Xuanrui had already cleaned his hands, so he gently patted Suisui’s little fuzz of hair, “Yes, it’s growing. Soon it will be long and beautiful.”
Curious, Suisui reached out to feel it.
There was only a layer of tiny stubble, and Suisui couldn’t really tell if it had grown or not.
But if her brother said it was growing, then it must be.
Suisui happily nodded, “It will be black and shiny and very long.”
Feng Xuanrui agreed, “Of course, my sister’s hair couldn’t be anything less than perfect!”
Feng Xuanbin, feeling left out, squeezed his way over and shouted, “Yes, yes, my sister’s hair must be black, shiny, and beautiful!”
After saying that, he even pulled his own hair forward, “Just like mine!”
When Feng Xuanbin said that, Feng Xuanrui’s competitive spirit flared up.
He imitated Feng Xuanbin, pulling at his own hair, “Well, of course, my hair is the best! Look, compare it. Sister, feel it!”
Qi Wangfei usually didn’t interfere with the children’s playful arguments. She preferred to let them sort out their own issues, only stepping in if there were serious conflicts.
So now, she sat there, smiling as she watched the children play.
Suisui first felt her brother’s hair.
It felt a bit damp.
Feng Xuanrui had gotten his hair wet while washing his face earlier.
To make his hair look neater, he had applied some hair oil, which made the hair feel a bit sticky and difficult to describe.
However, with her brother's charm, Suisui didn’t mind the texture at all. She just found it smooth and slightly sticky.
Suisui kept feeling it, then jumped up happily, “It feels so nice!”
Hearing this, Feng Xuanrui proudly tilted his head towards Feng Xuanbin.
Feng Xuanbin was a bit disappointed but still squeezed closer to his siblings, pulling at his own hair, “Sister, feel Seventh Brother’s hair. It’s cleaner and blacker than Sixth Brother’s!”
Suisui, wanting to be polite, felt Feng Xuanbin’s hair too, then nodded, “Seventh Brother’s hair is good, but Big Brother’s is the best!”
There was no way to compete with the charm of an older brother.
For now, no one could surpass the brother in Suisui’s eyes.
Feng Xuanbin felt a bit disappointed but was pleased that Suisui praised his hair too.
He happily went off to enjoy the red bean soup.
The other brothers first quenched their thirst with the red bean soup before gathering around Suisui to chat.
After a busy day, it was nearly time to return home.
Although the city gates stayed open a bit longer, traveling at night wasn’t ideal.
So, after the Feng family brothers finished their food and drinks, Qi Wangfei took the children back to the city.
Suisui was naturally to stay with her mother.
Feng Xuanrui insisted on squeezing in with them.
Feng Xuanbin saw this and also squeezed in.
Though the carriage was spacious, fitting too many children was challenging, especially considering the horses’ load.
So, Feng Xuancang and the others lagged behind, unable to squeeze in.
The group split into two carriages and slowly made their way back.
On the way there, Qi Wangfei had only Suisui with her, and the little girl was calm and quiet in her arms.
On the return trip, the carriage was now filled with two noisy monkeys.
The noise level was such that Qi Wangfei feared she might not get any sleep that night.
However, seeing Suisui’s eyes turn into crescent moons as her brothers made her laugh, Qi Wangfei thought: It’s only a sleepless night, not unbearable.
Coincidentally, they encountered the Tang family’s carriage on their way back.
The wide official road allowed the carriages from both families to travel side by side.
The Tang family’s carriage had originally been behind.
Seeing the Qi family’s carriage, Madam Tang hurriedly signaled the driver to speed up. After catching up, she pulled aside the curtain and greeted Qi Wangfei with a smile.
Hearing the commotion, Qi Wangfei also drew back the curtain and responded with a smile.
After a brief exchange of pleasantries, Madam Tang suggested that the Qi family’s carriage go ahead.
Qi Wangfei graciously agreed and signaled for her carriage to move ahead, letting the Tang family’s carriage pass.
The Qi family’s return was in two carriages, while the Tang family had just one.
Three luxurious carriages, along with their retinue of servants and guards, made a grand procession down the official road.
Xu Yueyao, who had just finished her afternoon training, was sitting on a stone bench, rubbing her legs.
In the afternoon, she had tried to scheme against Xu Yuenong but ended up being ostracized by other sisters instead.
She had been punished by Aunt Ning, standing between two chairs for half an hour, leaving her legs stiff.
Now that it was finally over, she was carefully massaging her legs, fearing she might not be able to walk the next day.
Because of her scheming, the other sisters were now keeping their distance from her.
Xu Yueyao considered herself reborn with a special status and was too lazy to engage in false politeness.
From a distance, she watched the carriages pass by and heard Xu Yuenong talking about which carriages belonged to which family. Xu Yueyao’s heart raced.
She had heard Xu Yuenong say that the two carriages ahead belonged to the Qi family.
The Qi family’s usual outings were unaffected by other matters. Could it be that...
The Sixth Young Master didn’t really break his leg and become paralyzed?
But that was impossible!
In her previous life, it was clearly the Prince Qing’s southern journey that caused the Sixth Young Master to break his leg!
Xu Yueyao told herself not to panic; the situation wasn’t confirmed yet. Maybe the Qi family was just putting on a brave front while secretly mourning.
She couldn’t panic.
She knew many things and understood a lot about future events.
But right now, she was stuck in this courtyard, unable to use her knowledge to her advantage.
Thinking about this, Xu Yueyao felt a bit despondent.
But she quickly pulled herself together.
She believed if Chen Suisui could succeed, so could she!
Suisui was unaware that her cousin had been lurking nearby.
After returning home with her mother and brothers, Suisui first went to wash up and prepare for dinner.
After a quick tidy-up, Qi Wangfei went to check on Aunt Qiu’s chosen helpers.
Before leaving, Peony softly said, “The two secondary consorts and several concubines sent some gifts as a greeting for the eldest young lady.”
