Chapter 342: Enemies Reunite on a Narrow Road (4)

Mo Yan looked at the three wide-open mouths and couldn't help feeling speechless. Xiao Hua's love for food was already a given, but now even Da Bai had become like this. What would she do when they returned to the mountains in the future!

She picked several pieces of cooked lamb, lightly dipped them in sauce, and placed two pieces in each bowl. In reality, these thin slices were barely enough to satisfy their appetites.

After enjoying the first bite blissfully, the three refused to let Mo Yan off the hook. Whenever she slowed down even a little, they impatiently clamored. The lamb cooked in the hotpot was just too delicious for them to resist!

Mo Yan ended up solely focused on feeding them, becoming their dedicated assistant for dipping the dishes, and ate very little herself.

The sauce had a bit of chili in it. A little bit was fine, but too much would be extremely spicy. Few animals could handle chili well. As expected, after eating too much, the three had their noses running, mouths gaping, and were panting for air.

Mo Yan was worried about upsetting their stomachs, so she gave them some spring water and decided not to dip their meat in sauce anymore. However, the lamb without sauce tasted much worse, and the three were dissatisfied, calling out to her again, especially Xiao Hua. Standing on its hind legs with its front paws on the table edge, it stuck its mouth into the sauce bowl, demanding to eat from it.

Mo Yan's eye twitched at the sight but reluctantly continued to dip the meat for them.

Halfway through their meal, Mao Mao returned, scratching sharply on the tightly closed door.

Li Yan hurried to open the door, and this guy flew in flapping its wings. It circled above Mo Yan's head twice, but under the watchful eyes of the three, it didn't dare land on her head like yesterday. Instead, it settled on the chair back behind her.

Hawks also have a keen sense of smell. Seeing the various fresh meats on the table and the tantalizing aroma rising from the hotpot, its eyes gleamed green. It completely forgot about delivering the message and stretched its neck to snatch a piece. Unfortunately, after eating tough meat all day, it almost ended up with indigestion.

Before its beak could reach the plate, it was ruthlessly slapped away by a fair, tender palm. Facing Mao Mao, which spread its wings and was about to run wild, Mo Yan said calmly, "Your mouth is covered in who knows how much dirt. If you contaminate the other meat, who will eat it?"

Mao Mao glared angrily: Being despised, isn't it upset!

The three mischievously watched Mao Mao, their mouths issuing harsh and unpleasant cries, which made Mo Yan's forehead twitch, and she gave one of them a kick.

After all four were fed, Mo Yan finally freed her hands to fill her own stomach. Fortunately, the prepared ingredients were abundant. Even though the three with big appetites had eaten most of it, there was enough left for the whole family to eat until full.

Touching his round belly, Zhen'er looked at the boiling soup base and was reluctant to put down his chopsticks, feeling a bit annoyed. "If only I had two stomachs, I could eat my fill whenever I encounter delicious food."

This silly remark amused everyone, and Mo Yan gave him a blank look. "Even if you had two stomachs, if you kept eating like this, it still wouldn't be enough. You'd be wishing for three stomachs next. Greedy people never know satisfaction, and without knowing satisfaction, where can they find the happiness of contentment?"

These words carried deep meaning. Except for Yun Sheng, who was still young and ignorant, the others stared at their food bowls in contemplation.

After savoring his meal carefully, Zhen'er blushed, put down his chopsticks, and got up from the table somewhat embarrassed. He said to Mo Yan, "I understand now, thank you for your teachings, Big Sister!"

"Good that you understand!" Mo Yan affectionately patted his head. "Whether in prosperity or adversity, always hold onto your true self and don't lose your way."
