Chapter 1180: The Prison in the Prefecture

The two groups met up again after leaving the inn.

"So, are we not waiting any longer and going back?" he asked.
Shu Yu replied, "You can go back. We have some other matters to attend to."
San Lai Zi was about to say they didn't have a carriage to go back with and if they could give them some money to rent one to return to Tianning County. But when he looked up, he saw the gloomy look in Meng Yunzheng's eyes, and he felt a chill down his spine. The pain from being kicked a couple of days ago seemed to resurface, so he quickly pulled his companion and slipped away.
Seeing this, Shu Yu couldn't help but chuckle, saying to Meng Yunzheng, "You used to have a warm and gentle smile that made people think you were approachable and easy to talk to. Now, you don't need to pretend anymore. I didn't expect that just a look could scare people away."
Meng Yunzheng helplessly replied, "Stop laughing. Let's go."
The two of them continued walking to the place where the carriage was parked. Ying Xi was there, drinking water. When she saw them, she jumped down from the cart.
"Miss and Young Master Meng, did you meet the person?" Ying Xi asked.
Shu Yu shook her head, "They didn't show up. I don't know if they were aware that we were waiting for them or if they never intended to meet San Lai Zi and the others."
Ying Xi nodded, "What should we do now?"
Meng Yunzheng helped Shu Yu onto the carriage and replied, "We don't have time right now, and we're not familiar with Huajiang Prefecture or Tianning County. We'll have to rely on Yan Bo to pay more attention to this matter."
Ying Xi nodded again and helped them both onto the carriage, then pulled down the curtain. "Miss, are we going back now?"
Shu Yu replied, "No, we're going to the prison in the prefecture."
