Chapter 379: Wild Beast Enters the Village to Fight Dogs (Part 1)
Mo Yan was still in the courtyard when she heard the faint but fierce roars from the back mountain where Xiao Hua was. Anxious, she quickly opened the side door and ran up the mountain, with Xin'er following closely behind.
On the path at the foot of the mountain, Zhen'er and the other children anxiously watched halfway up the slope where the fight was intense. They had approached briefly earlier but had almost been knocked away by the tail of the python, so they didn't dare to follow closely.
Seeing Mo Yan approach, they all clamored to ask what to do. They were familiar with several wild animals and didn't want any of them to get hurt.
Halfway up the mountain was full of dry grass, and Mo Yan could only hear Xiao Hua's cries without seeing their shadows. However, she spotted the python, supposed to be hibernating, supporting a large head and running swiftly through the grass. She could faintly hear the angry thud of its tail hitting the ground.
It seemed that the python was genuinely enraged. Could it be that Xiao Hua and the others had awakened it from hibernation?
Mo Yan guessed as she hurried towards the middle of the mountain. If she didn't stop them, the village would be drawn to such a big commotion!
"Sister, don't go, it's too dangerous!" Xin'er shouted in alarm from behind, and the children rushed up to persuade her.
Mo Yan turned to wave her hand at them. "The python's temperament isn't bad; it won't harm me. Don't follow me; I'll be careful."
Before she could finish her sentence, Xiao Hua let out another miserable cry. Mo Yan didn't have time to say anything else and rushed up the mountain.
The children, worried that the python would harm their sister, followed closely behind, keeping a distance that was neither too far nor too close. If something happened, they could intervene.
On the slope halfway up the mountain, several wild animals were fighting fiercely. The python, with red eyes, thrashed its body wildly, hissing and relentlessly chasing Xiao Hua and Da Bai. It swung its tail forcefully, clearly infuriated!
Da Bai was faster and managed to avoid the python's attacks, but the python focused most of its attention on Xiao Hua. Xiao Hua, slower in speed, couldn't evade and was occasionally hit by the python's tail.
As for Mao Tuan, it clung to a high branch, watching the dangerous situation below with alarm, hugging the trunk and calling anxiously, but dared not come down to mediate.
Seeing this, Mo Yan was almost certain that Xiao Hua had provoked the python and awakened it from hibernation. Otherwise, given the python's usually mild temperament, it wouldn't have become so furious.
Watching Xiao Hua dodging around, Mo Yan couldn't help but think "serves you right" silently, deciding to stand aside and watch it being taught a lesson.
Xiao Hua, chased by the enraged python, was hit and bitten, bleeding profusely despite its thick fur. Its silver fur was stained with patches of red, and it howled in pain and misery.
However, the python showed no intention of letting Xiao Hua go. It glared viciously with its eyes as it fiercely pursued the "ringleader" who had disturbed its hibernation. It had been peacefully nesting in its burrow, and now this troublemaker had stirred it awake. Considering its advanced age and the months of ingesting Qi-enhancing substances, its condition had not improved.
Winter was cold, and the python was vulnerable to death during sleep, unable to wake up again. But being awakened midway through was quite uncomfortable, and those months of eating those things with spirit would be for nothing, and could result in even greater damage to the body.
At this moment, Xiao Hua was almost a breakdown. It didn't have to hibernate and didn't know the effects of hibernation on the python, but it was just bored and wanted to wake up with the python to play, but this guy played a life-chasing game.
