PWDLAW Chapter 535: Regret
Chapter 535: Regret
Ye Muyu clutched at the front of her clothes. This sudden feeling of being cherished made her breathing slightly erratic. In her past life, she had always been the one who was overlooked.
In the eyes of others, she lived an exquisite and free life, but little did they know that she was alone all along.
No family, no lover, just a few scattered friends whom she only saw a few times a year due to work.
So, she could also be loved?
Ye Muyu felt a bit confused.
Time quickly passed by.
The sky gradually darkened.
Midway through, Chu Heng fed Ye Muyu her medicine once, and she quietly drank it, making his mood even more uneasy.
Because he found it difficult to gauge Ye Muyu's attitude.
He was afraid that if Ye Muyu became impatient and insisted on divorce, what would he do?
With deep eyes looking through the window, he could vaguely see Ye Muyu's figure. Chu Heng took a deep breath, his gaze becoming firm.
No matter what choice Ye Muyu made, he would not divorce her!
Even if she ended up hating him because of this, he would still keep her by his side for the rest of his life.
Only by keeping her by his side did he have hope, didn't he?
Chu Heng smiled somewhat reluctantly. Only he knew that the persistence towards Ye Muyu deep inside him was so strong that he couldn't even believe it himself.
It was as if he had been waiting for her for a long time.
Chu Heng lowered his head to look at his hands, squeezing them slightly. There was some doubt and confusion in his eyes, but when he raised his head again, his expression had turned resolute.
Since he liked her, then he would pursue her.
Dinner that night was prepared by Hu Shi, but halfway through, Ye Muyu came out of her room and entered the kitchen, naturally helping Hu Shi prepare dinner.
Chu Ziluo and Chu Jin heard the news and quickly entered the kitchen. The two of them each grabbed one of Ye Muyu's legs and acted coquettishly.
"Mother, are you feeling better?"
Chu Jin also complained, "Mother, I wanted to come see you, but Father wouldn't let me."
Chu Heng followed closely behind the two of them when they entered the kitchen but his gaze remained glued to Ye Muyu. When he heard Chu Jin's complaint, his eyes narrowed slightly.
Chu Jin immediately felt a chill run down his spine and turned around to see Chu Heng's unfriendly gaze.
Although he was still young, he was quite sensitive to danger. He was almost scared to tears.
Subconsciously, he hugged Ye Muyu's leg tighter and quickly acted cute, "Mother, I misspoke just now. It has nothing to do with Father. I was just studying."
This excuse was obviously poorly crafted.
Ye Muyu turned her head and indeed saw Chu Heng. Thinking of his calculations against her, a hint of anger arose in her heart as she deliberately said, "Jin is the best. Mother has made you worry. I'll make you egg custard tonight."
Chu Jin's eyes instantly lit up, and even the fear he had from his own father was temporarily forgotten when he saw Ye Muyu's smiling face. He acted cute, "Mother, I knew you were the best."
"Thank you for your liking, Jin." Ye Muyu didn't realize that her smile was like a beam of light shining from the darkness, dazzling and warm.
Chu Ziluo couldn't help but also hug Ye Muyu's arm tightly. She found herself liking her mother more and more.
Chu Heng watched as the two children acted cute in Ye Muyu's arms, feeling a twinge of jealousy in his heart. He suddenly walked over, his face still serious as he furrowed his brows, "Don't disturb your mother in the kitchen. Her body isn't fully recovered yet."
After speaking, he looked at Ye Muyu with an unusually gentle gaze, mixed with concern, "Ah Yu, I'll stay and help you with dinner."
