Chapter 282: Securing the Shop, Trapping the Zhang Family (Part 4)

Mo Yan furrowed her brows, pushed the door open, and walked straight past Zhang Ming, with Li Zhong closely behind, not even sparing him a glance.

"What are you, an old bastard, doing here? Are you here to bring bad luck to my Zhang family again? Get out, get out of here, my Zhang family doesn't welcome you!"

A sharp shout woke up Zhang Ming, who quickly bolted the courtyard door shut and rushed back inside, only to find his mother, Hu Shi, pointing angrily at his former father-in-law.

At this moment, only Zhang Fugui sat silently at the head of the room, while Hu Shi ranted, and Zhang Ming, who had just rushed in, stood beside her. Yao Taohua and the child were not at home.

Ignoring Hu Shi's tirade, Li Zhong stood there as if he hadn't heard anything, his hand clenched into a fist hidden in his sleeve.

Mo Yan couldn't bear it anymore and stared coldly at Hu Shi. "It's best to watch your mouth. Be careful not to end up in hell's tongue-pulling hell."

Hu Shi's lungs nearly exploded upon hearing this. She instantly directed her rage at Mo Yan. "You little slut, how dare you curse me to hell? I'll tear your crow's mouth to shreds!"

With that, she pounced towards Mo Yan, her nails outstretched.

Mo Yan, impatient to argue with an ignorant shrew, dodged to the side in the instant before Hu Shi reached her, while Li Zhong, unnoticed, quietly extended his foot.

"Ouch!" Hu Shi suddenly tripped and fell hard, crying out in pain as she landed heavily on the cold, hard ground.

"Mother!" Zhang Ming hurried over to help her up. "Mother, are you alright?"

"Son, mother's ankle might be broken. Hurry, go and kill that little bitch for mother."

Mo Yan shook her head. Hu Shi's absurdity was on par with Hong Shi's. It was hard to imagine how aunt had endured her for so many years.

Mo Yan had come specifically for the matter of the shop and didn't want to waste time on this foolish woman. So, she took out the document from her sleeve pocket and unfolded it, then handed it over to Zhang Fugui, who had been silent the whole time, and said unceremoniously:

"Do you recognize this, Shopkeeper Zhang? It's the agreement signed by Shopkeeper Xing from Huixian Residence just now. I'm the real buyer of the shop. I can't wait for two days to transfer the ownership. Today, Shopkeeper Zhang must go to the yamen with me to settle this."

Zhang Fugui, who had been motionless, finally reacted a bit. His old eyes focused on the document, and seeing the names and handprints of himself and Shopkeeper Xing at the bottom, he knew without a doubt that the document was genuine.

A gleam flashed in his eyes, and he said solemnly, "As I said before, the items in the shop haven't been organized yet, so we need to wait two days before going to the yamen to transfer ownership."

Mo Yan smiled coldly. "We'll transfer it now, and I'll give you two days to organize. Anyway, we must go to the yamen today. If you refuse to go, I'll have to file a complaint at the yamen."

Zhang Fugui's already unpleasant expression darkened further. "Don't you trust me? Then, I'll refund your money, and the shop won't be sold by me."

Mo Yan immediately realized that her previous worries were not unfounded; there was indeed something fishy about the Zhang family.

Thinking this, her smile turned even colder. "Shopkeeper Zhang doesn't want to hand over the shop? Fine, I'll go to the yamen now and ask the magistrate to intervene. I want to see if those who paid but can't get the shop are willing to let your Zhang family off the hook."
