After breakfast, Ye Muyu and Hu Shi prepared the gifts to take back home, while Zhang Shu and Luchuan helped carry them onto the carriage.
Meanwhile, Chu Heng instructed Ziluo and Xiao Jin to change their clothes and accompany him to the Ye residence.
"Mister, Madam, the wine, fabric, sugar, pastries, and two pairs of shoes, as well as the peace knots, are all ready." Hu Shi stood at the courtyard gate, watching as Chu Heng helped Ye Muyu onto the carriage. "I will take good care of the house."
This time, Hu Shi's family didn't accompany them, leaving only Luchuan to drive the carriage.
After Ye Muyu boarded the carriage, she lifted the curtain and said, "Thank you. We should be back later in the afternoon. If anything unexpected happens, it might delay us for a day."
Ye Muyu didn't know the situation at the Ye residence but she thought it was a joyous occasion, so it shouldn't take too long. However, she didn't make any definite promises, leaving Hu Shi with a rough idea.
Hu Shi nodded and said, "Madam, rest assured, I understand."
"Let's go." Chu Heng said aloud, and Luchuan cracked the whip, and the carriage headed towards the village. As they passed by the school, Chu Heng got off the carriage to ask the teacher for a day off for Chu Jin.
When Chu Heng got back on the carriage, Luchuan continued driving.
"Master Lin has assigned you some homework." Chu Heng said, placing a piece of paper in front of Chu Jin, which listed tasks such as memorization, previewing, and dictation.
Chu Jin's joyful mood was instantly shattered upon seeing the homework. "Ah, why is there so much?"
"Don't want to do it?" Chu Heng glared at him, and Chu Jin shuddered, quickly taking the paper and stuffing it into his clothes, vigorously nodding, "I'll do it, Father, you can rest assured."
