PWDLAW Chapter 521: So, He Chooses to Part...

Chapter 521: So, He Chooses to Part...

After asking for a while and seeing that Chu Heng didn't respond but kept staring at her, Ye Muyu was somewhat puzzled. She reached out and waved in front of him trying to bring him back.

Chu Heng snapped out of his thoughts. Because of his stubborn idea just now, his gaze was a bit dark. He stared at Ye Muyu's lips for a moment before slowly speaking, "He's already back. He came back with me and went home first. Tomorrow, we'll go to your mother's house."

"How did you find him? These years must have been tough for him." Ye Muyu couldn't help sighing.

For ordinary people, serving in the army after conscription usually meant facing many hardships. Most of the rural folks who only knew how to wield a hoe would lose their lives.

"Your elder brother has become the Commandant of the Cavalry, holding the rank of seventh-grade official." Chu Heng dropped a bombshell.

"Seventh-grade?" Ye Muyu was somewhat astonished. Considering that a county magistrate was only eighth-grade, Ye Zhao's official position was actually higher by half a rank. In the context of the prosperity of both civil and military officials in the Da Chu Dynasty, the status of military officials was not lower than that of civil officials, depending on the office and connections.

"He's done well." Chu Heng looked at her steadily, suddenly saying, "Earlier, you mentioned giving me time to consider whether we should part ways. Now, the time has come, and I've actually made up my mind. But I want to tell you the answer now."

Ye Muyu didn't expect Chu Heng to suddenly bring up this matter. Although she remembered it, she vaguely knew Chu Heng's answer and tacitly avoided asking.

Chu Heng reached out and gently grabbed her shoulder. The scalding heat from his large hand seemed like it could melt her body.

Ye Muyu's eyelashes trembled slightly, and her somewhat uneasy eyes looked at him.

Chu Heng spoke each word clearly "I know you're different from before. You're the Ah Yu I know, not a member of the Ye family."

"But others don't know and the Ye family doesn't know."

"He has always had a good relationship with you and over the years, you've taken care of his wife and children. With this favor, he will treat you well. Even if you decide to part ways with me..." Here, Chu Heng's voice became a bit hoarse and his eyes reddened. "Even if you decide to part ways with me, he will definitely take good care of you and not let anyone bully you."

Ye Muyu's mind was blank as she looked at Chu Heng, and for some reason, her eyes were a bit sour. Her mind was filled with the days she had spent in this ancient era.

She initially thought she wouldn't adapt and would be lonely, after all it was a completely unfamiliar environment.

But because of Chu Heng, because of Ziluo and Xiao Jin, she hadn't had the chance to experience that loneliness and had slowly integrated into the life of this era.

In the past, she didn't realize this.

But now, hearing Chu Heng say that she might gradually become estranged from them in the future, no longer being a family, her body trembled slightly.

With a hoarse voice, she asked, "Is this... your choice?"

So, he chooses to part...

Ye Muyu didn't know that her emotions could be so sad. Her eyes were sore, wanting to cry but lacking the courage to say any words of retention because this was a promise she had made with her own mouth.

Yes, she was not Ye's, and she was not Chu Heng's wife.

He could have cared less about a lone ghost taking possession of Ye's body, which was already extremely magnanimous. He waited until her elder brother Ye Zhao returned, giving her someone to rely on before saying these words.

  1. Every time CH acts like that it creeps me out...of course he might hate the original owner of the body, but at the point he rebirthed to, he's also responsible for the state of the family...instead he's like, "oh, she's gone? too bad so sad..." even though she gave him two kids (in an era where women die in childbirth relatively regularly!)...YM seems kinda stupid too in that she doesn't bother considering this point...
