Is Xiao Fu Bao Disliked? The Whole City Loves Me With Their Lives

When the dignitaries of the capital came to recognize their marriage, the aunt stuffed Suisui into the henhouse and pushed her cousin out.

her cousin went to the capital in a carriage to enjoy the blessings, but every year she was thrown by her aunt into the mountains to feed the wolves.

The wolf didn’t wait, but the young master from Prince Qi’s mansion came to her every year and was taken back to the capital.

Young Master: Sister, mine!

Everyone in the palace looked forward to their daughter with green eyes: Sui Sui, ours!

The daughter slaves to the father and raises her high.

A Buddhist concubine who transforms into a fighting madman and fights back against all those with bad intentions.

The seven brothers wanted to put her in their pockets and take her with them every day to protect her!

In the end, even the aloof Queen Mother lowered her body, hugged Suisui in her arms, and called her good girl with a smile.

*Chapter 1: The Little Pitiful Suisui*

Late March in the spring, everything was coming back to life.

Suisui was dragging a thick, long tree branch, struggling to move forward.

The branch was about as thick as an adult’s arm, and six or seven feet long, even longer than two Suisuis put together.

Suisui was small and weak, gritting her teeth as she stopped and started, finally managing to drag the branch back to the small courtyard at the entrance of the village before the sun rose.

Just as she entered the yard, before she could call out to her aunt, she was struck on the head with a broom by Tian Cuihua, who had just finished sweeping the yard, still filled with anger.

The blow was swift and harsh, sending Suisui stumbling to the chicken coop, where her forehead hit the low stone wall with a loud “thud.”

Pain instantly surged through her, her vision went black, and nausea churned in her stomach, but Suisui gritted her teeth, telling herself not to cry.

If she didn’t cry, she might just get scolded; once her aunt was no longer angry, she wouldn’t get beaten again.

But if she cried and her aunt got annoyed, she might just get beaten to death!

However, her vision was so dark, and her head was spinning. Suisui couldn’t even hear what her aunt was yelling about before she lost consciousness.

“…First thing in the morning, the yard isn’t swept, the chickens aren’t fed, and the water isn’t fetched. What’s the point of keeping you around?”

“Your mother was a loose woman, and you’re just like her! You can’t do any work, and all you do is bring shame to the family! Did I dig up your Chen family’s ancestral graves or something? Why does the heavens torment me so?”

...

Tian Cuihua cursed as she lifted her dirty, worn broom and started hitting Suisui’s small body.

As for Suisui fainting?

Tian Cuihua figured she had just fainted; it wasn’t like she was dead. Why should she care?

Besides, if she did die, it would save on food!

Suisui’s clothes were thin, her pants so patched up that they formed a mosaic, and were far too short, revealing her scarred ankles.

At this moment, even though Suisui was unconscious, she was still somewhat aware.

When the broom hit her, her body would instinctively flinch.

Tian Cuihua beat her for a long time, until she was panting heavily, exhausted. Just as she was about to go over and kick her a few times, she heard her youngest daughter, Chen Yueyao, calling from inside the house: “Mom! Mom!”

The voice sounded somewhat urgent. Tian Cuihua, now enraged, turned her head and yelled into the house, “What are you yelling for, summoning ghosts this early in the morning?”

Despite her words, she turned and walked toward the house. Before leaving, she vented her frustration by throwing the broom heavily onto Suisui’s body.

Suisui’s small body flinched again.

Inside, Chen Yueyao was a bit excited. She kept looking at her reflection in the basin of water, checking again and again, finally confirming something.

She had been reborn!

Reborn to the most important day of her past life!

On this day in her previous life, Suisui’s real father, far away in the capital, sent people to take her back!

After Suisui returned to the capital, her life improved, and even their poor relatives benefitted greatly.

Chen Yueyao had also gone to the capital with them and had seen a lot of the world.

The more she saw, the more unwilling she became.

Why was Suisui the daughter of a noble family while she was just a village girl?

Was it just because Suisui’s mother had a loose reputation?

Chen Yueyao had been resentful in her past life. Who would have thought that the heavens would take pity on her and let her be reborn on this crucial day!

Chen Yueyao thought: A noble family's daughter, huh?

She would take that title for herself!

After all, the marquis had never seen Suisui. They were the same age, so why couldn’t she be the marquis’ daughter?

Besides, after their aunt passed away, it was their family who had been raising Suisui. Asking for a little repayment wasn’t too much, was it?

It was early in the morning, and in about the time it took to burn a stick of incense, the people from the capital would arrive.

Chen Yueyao needed to discuss their story with her family beforehand, but most importantly, they had to silence Suisui!

Only a dead person can keep a secret forever!

Meanwhile, outside, as Chen Yueyao and her mother were whispering to each other, Suisui, lying by the chicken coop, finally woke up in the cool spring breeze.

Her head still hurt. She reached up to touch it and felt blood on her hand.

Only now did Suisui fully realize the pain. Tears started streaming down her face uncontrollably, but she didn’t dare make a sound, using her bloodstained hand to wipe her tears away, first to the left, then to the right.

Suisui told herself: I can’t cry. Even if I do, I can’t make any noise.

Otherwise, I’ll get beaten.

Besides, it’s just a cut; it doesn’t hurt.

Two days ago, her uncle had swollen her arm with a beating, but she had blown on it, and soon enough, it didn’t hurt anymore.

The day before that, her cousin had cut her hair and pricked her scalp, and that had bled too. But she had put some plant ash on it, and by evening, it didn’t hurt anymore either.

She had dealt with bleeding before, so Suisui pressed her lips together and told herself it was fine, that it would get better soon.

After comforting herself for a while, Suisui finally calmed down. She struggled to her feet and tried to go to the stove to get some plant ash.

Before she could reach the door, Tian Cuihua stormed out, grabbed Suisui roughly by the shoulder, and dragged her back to the chicken coop. She shoved Suisui into the low entrance.

Suisui didn’t dare make a sound throughout.

She knew that resisting wouldn’t help and would only bring more beatings.

As long as she stayed quiet, let her aunt beat her, and allowed her cousins to bully her, they’d eventually tire themselves out, and she’d be fine.

It was just a beating; she’d find a way to comfort herself afterward!

The entrance to the coop was small, and even though Suisui was thin, Tian Cuihua forcefully shoved her in. During the process, Suisui’s head hit the stone wall again, and her knee scraped against it, producing a tearing sound.

Her pants, already old beyond repair, finally gave way, tearing a long hole.

Hearing the sound, Tian Cuihua muttered viciously, “Why didn’t it just kill you and save me the trouble?”

She then picked up a stone slab nearby and used it to block the entrance of the coop. Before leaving, she didn’t forget to threaten Suisui, “Stay quiet in there. If you make a sound, I’ll break your legs!”

Suisui had been softly hissing from the pain, but hearing this, she bit her lip hard, not daring to make another sound.

However, her head, already injured, was hurt even more, making her feel even dizzier and more nauseous.

Once the stone slab was in place, only a small crack of light entered the chicken coop. It was dark, oppressive, and cramped, with every breath filled with a strong stench.

Suisui carefully shrank back, trying to see how her leg was doing when suddenly, a crisp, gentle voice sounded in her ear.

*[The Growth and Happiness System has been activated!]*

*[Let’s see, who’s the little cutie that needs company… huh?]*

The Growth and Happiness System had been happily reciting its activation script when it suddenly froze after seeing the situation in front of it.

This was the little cutie it was supposed to accompany?

Looking at the information displayed: Suisui, five years old.

Then it looked at the small, thin, injured girl huddled in the corner. With that tiny frame, she looked malnourished, as if she were barely three years old.

Was she even taller than three feet?

The Growth and Happiness System felt its heart breaking at the sight!

It adjusted its voice, making it as high-pitched as possible, then lowered its tone, filling its words with a coaxing warmth.

*[Suisui, I’m your good friend, Lele.]*
