Ye Muyu's words were straightforward. As a woman, she couldn't afford to ruin her reputation by entertaining a visit from a young man when her husband wasn't present.
She felt that this Third Young Master of the Xie family either didn't consider this aspect or had some ulterior motive.

As a result, he subconsciously underestimated the situation. Yet, he didn't dare to disobey Xie Yu's command and maintained a respectful demeanor throughout.
Ye Muyu's response made him realize that he might have been blind.
"In that case, I will await Third Young Master's visit."
Ye Muyu also wanted to ascertain Xie Yu's character. Seeing that the Xie family servant didn't take advantage of the situation, she guessed the reason behind it. She only needed to meet Xie Yu to be sure.
She didn't get angry at Ji Yun's obvious attempt to cover up the situation. Since he said so, it meant that more than Xie Yu would be visiting. As long as her reputation wasn't at risk, it was acceptable.
"Zhang Shu, escort our guest."
Zhang Shu nodded and escorted Ji Yun out. When Ji Yun was getting on the carriage, Zhang Shu handed him a bag of kudzu root powder with a note explaining how to use it.
"What's this?" Ji Yun was just relieved that the task was completed.

With a kind smile, Zhang Shu patiently explained, "Young man, this is a gift from our madam. It's kudzu root powder a kind of food. Follow the instructions on the paper when you get home. Although it's edible, it's better for people with a colder constitution to eat less."

Zhang Shu's attitude was excellent but he didn't say much, following Ye Muyu's instructions. Seeing Ji Yun still a bit puzzled, he subconsciously thought he might have said something wrong.
When he was feeling uneasy, Ji Yun finally recovered from his surprise and exclaimed "Isn't kudzu root used as medicine? Can it be eaten?"

Zhang Shu thought with the way it was said, it shouldn't be questioned whether it could be eaten or not. But the truth was, he had eaten two meals with kudzu root powder these days. Although it was just a common cold dish with the weather getting warmer and the good taste, he wished he could eat more.
