Arc 2 Chapter 81: Gamer God, Please Don't Tease (38)
"It's fine they just like to make a fuss." Su Xun replied squeezing her soft hand and giving it a gentle squeeze. How could everything be fine? It seemed like they were all on the verge of eating her alive, afraid that they had made more than just a slip of the tongue.
Could there be some hidden story here that she wasn't aware of? How many secrets was Su Xun hiding from her?
"Of course, you don't know how many wrongs you've unintentionally committed!" Number 666 commented without holding back.
"Eh... So what exactly is going on?" Luo Liyan felt completely bewildered. If she kept being in the dark like this, she was afraid that one day she'd meet an unexpected end!
"When your friend wanted to confess to you, what did you tell your friend?" Number 666 continued mercilessly. "You said you disliked guys who played games all day. You made him dream of winning the S8 and as soon as he won the global championship of S9, he retired destroying the world's number one ADC. Do you think you should take responsibility? In my opinion, these side missions shouldn't even award you any gold beans. You created your own problems, so you should fix them yourself."
"I'm not well-read, so don't deceive me." Luo Liyan's heart skipped a beat. When had she ever said something like that? She had no recollection of it.
"Deceive you? Two years ago, because you had to submit your art assignment and your younger brother wanted to play games, you kept arguing with him for your computer. Are you sure you didn't say something like that to your friend?" Number 666 huffed, reminding her.
Uh... there might have been such a situation, but...
"Don't worry I'll definitely help Su Xun return to the professional esports scene and win another championship."Luo Liyan confidently declared her goal but didn't forget to retort Number 666. "But you won't get away with avoiding the gold beans you promised me!"
"Everything is yours, can't you be satisfied?" Number 666 sighed in exasperation.
Luo Liyan bit her lower lip and sneakily raised her eyes to look at Su Xun. She found him gazing at her tenderly as if she were his entire world.
"Sorry for being so nosy," she mumbled.
"In fact, there's nothing secretive about my retirement. I just felt overwhelmed at the time which led to my decision." Su Xun said, reluctant to release her small hand.
Doing what you love the most is agony when the one you love doesn't like it even for a single minute. If it weren't for bringing glory to his country and fulfilling everyone's dreams, he could have been by Luo Liyan's side long ago.
"Are you feeling better now?" Luo Liyan curiously looked at him. Even though Number 666 claimed that Su Xun's retirement was entirely because of her, she was aware that professional gamers often suffered from occupational hazards due to intensive training.
"I'm doing great." Su Xun confidently replied. He had no intention of correcting Luo Liyan's misconceptions.
"That's good." Luo Liyan breathed a sigh of relief, pouting and looking at him with regret. "It's such a shame that you've retired and I won't be able to see you win the S Championship."
"You can watch videos, you know? Our team leader is the miracle of the Z-country's esports the only trophy holder for the S Championship. He led us to victory." Jiason excitedly pointed out. Seeing that Luo Liyan didn't show any negative emotions he was nearly jumping out of his seat.
