Luo Liyan's eyes previously filled with restlessness now lowered slightly to cover her emotions and when she raised her head again everything had returned to calm.
"Why would you have the guest do the cooking?" Su Xun placed his hands on Luo Liyan's shoulders and gently pushed her onto the sofa. "You just sit here and wait for me to prepare something delicious for you."
His words left no room for refusal. Since he promised to spoil Luo Liyan, there was no way he would let her do the heavy lifting.
"Alright," Luo Liyan smiled sweetly and looked at the man in front of her, nodding. "I won't resist then."
"Exactly what I want." Su Xun thought with a satisfied smirk.
Now that his beloved girl was sitting in the home they shared eagerly waiting, Su Xun began to relax a bit.
Over the past four years, he had learned to make all these dishes but each time he prepared them he could only eat a few bites before losing his appetite.
Suddenly realizing the scene he had fantasized about so many times was coming true, he felt a sense of unreality wash over him.
Could it be that he was just too paranoid and delusional?
This idea made Su Xun's body tremble slightly and his hand holding the knife quivered.
He wanted to go to the living room to confirm it but he was afraid that everything was just an illusion.
"What's wrong? Did you forget to buy something?"Luo Liyan asked curiously, leaning against the door frame and sneaking glances at Su Xun.
Before her words had even faded, Su Xun turned his head his eyes fixed on her a crazed look of infatuation in his gaze. With the sharp knife in his hand he looked somewhat terrifying.
"Little Six, are you sure the male lead of this game is okay? He won't attack me will he?" Luo Liyan instinctively took a few steps back and asked in her mind.
【Don't worry, he loves you so much that he would probably end up hurting himself before even nicking you.】 Number 666 sighed softly, 【Just don't hurt him.】
Breathing a sigh of relief, Luo Liyan was about to look back at Su Xun but she was suddenly pulled into a warm embrace.
The pleasant scent of Su Xun's body made her take a deep breath.
"Su Xun? What's the matter?"
In order not to startle him, Luo Liyan tried to sound more concerned rather than frightened.
"I'm sorry, I just remembered some unhappy things and I didn't control my emotions properly." Su Xun said, his long eyelashes fluttering like the wings of a butterfly. He was in a bit of a panic wanting to let Luo Liyan go but being gently held in place by her small hands.
"Don't think about those unhappy things anymore, they're all in the past right?" Luo Liyan patted Su Xun's back gently soothing him softly. "Things will get better from now on."
"Yes, they will get better even better than now." Su Xun said solemnly, his voice low and hoarse as if he were making a solemn vow.
Reluctantly releasing the little girl in his arms, Su Xun's face showed an apologetic smile. "I'll go on and prepare dinner. If you get hungry, you can have some snacks on the coffee table. I'll be ready soon."
"You don't have to rush, I'm not hungry" Luo Liyan said with a shy smile, her mouth pursed.
Just as the couple was enveloped in their rosy bubble of affection a sudden crisp doorbell interrupted the moment.
