Chapter 397: If not afraid of her, then strike until they're afraid.

Lu Han lifted his foot, preparing to go in, but Qin Ruan reached out and grabbed his arm.

She frowned and said in a deep voice, "Don't go in just yet."

Lu Han turned around, puzzled. "What's wrong?"

"It's not clean inside," she replied, and then she walked inside.

Lu Han watched as she entered, a chilling sensation running down his spine.

Seeing the Madam enter the morgue, Hou Chuan and Hou Zhi quickly followed.

Footsteps sounded behind them, reaching Qin Ruan's ears. Without turning her head, she said, "You two stay out too!"

Hou Chuan and Hou Zhi stopped their steps at the entrance of the morgue, their gaze vigilant as they surveyed the scene inside.

They couldn't hear it, but after Qin Ruan went in, the wailing cries of lost souls and howling ghosts emanated from inside.

The sound was piercing, sharp, almost piercing through one's heart.

Qin Ruan remained expressionless, her eyes coldly fixed on them.

These lost souls, both male and female, stared at Qin Ruan as if they had found prey, seeing her as a potential meal. They were all restless.

A faint golden light shimmered in Qin Ruan's eyes, and her cold gaze exuded a commanding aura, causing the spirits to retreat.

These lost souls, who were initially eager to try, seemed to have encountered a presence that frightened them, and in an instant, they scattered in all directions.

Qin Ruan was like a natural enemy of lost souls, slowly approaching them with calm footsteps.

A golden whip materialized in her hand, and with a sharp crack, a chilling aura filled the air.

Qin Ruan's every move was skilled and full of killing intent.

As one lost soul rushed towards the door, she swung her golden whip, hooking onto its ethereal body and flinging it into a corner of the room.

The figure, like a limp noodle, splattered against the wall.

The other wandering lost souls in the vicinity stopped in their tracks, their faces pale, staring at Qin Ruan in horror.

Clearly, they had been intimidated by her display.

Qin Ruan coldly stared at these lost souls, her golden whip striking the ground.

"Crack!"

The Golden Whip possesses sacred power, and the aura of killing spreads throughout the space.

The lost souls huddle together, swarming and piling up.

They tremble in fear, and seeing Qin Ruan is like encountering the Grim Reaper in hell.

Qin Ruan wears a satisfied smile on her face. She slightly opens her thin lips and says in a deep voice, ''None of you can escape. The whip in my hand shows no mercy. One careless move, and I'll whip you into ashes. There will be no time for regrets.''

One of the female ghost, with a twisted mouth and half of her face missing, her brain exposed, musters up the courage to ask Qin Ruan, ''Who are you?''

She still wears the clothes she had in her previous life, with fresh red blood seeping into her upper body, faintly revealing a still-beating heart inside her chest.

Qin Ruan's gaze lowers slightly, taking in the horrifying injuries left by the car accident that occurred before the female ghost death.

The same is true for the other male and female ghost around, all of them bearing miserable wounds. The extent of their injuries indicates the immense pain they endured during their lives.

Qin Ruan feels no sympathy for them. Her deep and cold gaze sweeps over each and every lost soul present, a mocking smile playing at the corners of her lips.

Who would have thought these individuals would possess a denser and darker aura than the Lee Manning lost soul she had encountered before?

Even after death, they carry a strong dark aura, which suggests they committed numerous evil deeds during their lives.

Every lost soul present is tainted.

Qin Ruan doesn't answer the female ghost question. She turns around and looks at Hou Chuan standing at the door, raising her chin slightly. ''Go get a chair. I don't feel like standing anymore.''

''It's already prepared.''

Hou Chuan turns around and brings out a chair from behind the door.

As he's about to step forward, Qin Ruan swiftly whips her golden whip.

The whip's end hooks onto the chair leg, quickly and steadily, instantly bringing it before Qin Ruan's eyes.

Qin Ruan addresses Lu Han, Hou Chuan, and Hou Zhi, who are standing stunned at the door, ''You better not come in. If you get contaminated with the ghost aura, I don't want to bother cleansing you. It's too troublesome.''

Her tone is filled with disgust.

''Yes, Madam.''

Hou Chuan and Hou Zhi echo in unison.

Lu Han's face turns awkward as he recalls the scenes of encountering ghost in the past. He nods stiffly.

Qin Ruan sits on the chair, crossing her legs, exuding a faint air of laziness and dominance.

Her icy gaze sweeps over the huddled lost souls, and she coldly says, ''You don't need to know who I am. Just answer my questions.''

''Why should we listen to you? Who are you, after all?''

The same female ghost who spoke up earlier protests against Qin Ruan.

Qin Ruan held the handle of the golden whip in her right hand, while her slender left hand fingers pinched the center of the whip, gently stretching it.

She raised her gaze, her eyes locking onto the female ghost that had spoken. A cold and indifferent smile played on her lips, devoid of any warmth.

"Tsk!" Qin Ruan clicked her tongue.

She appeared troubled, slowly opening her mouth to counter-question, "Why should I?"

Her voice was icy and deep.

Just as the ghost thought she was about to introduce herself, Qin Ruan swung her golden whip at them with the speed of a thunderbolt.

"Crack!"

Danger approached, and the ghosts scattered in panic, fleeing in all directions once again.

There were even ghost who attempted to escape opportunistically but were bound by Qin Ruan's golden whip and flung into a dark corner.

Qin Ruan didn't waste any words with them either. She stood up, her aura expanding, and she brandished the golden whip in her hand with dominance.

The pleasant sound of crackling echoed in the morgue.

Qin Ruan answered the ghost question through her actions.

The fact that these ghosts repeatedly challenged her indicated that they were not afraid of her.

To make them fear her, to discipline them until they learned to behave, was what she needed to do for things to proceed smoothly.

A male ghost let out a wailing cry, resembling a ghost's howl. "Ow, it hurts so much!"

Beside him, a female ghost covered her bloody face and screamed, "Stop hitting, stop hitting! My face is falling off!!!"

The ghosts screams filled the air. "My arm, don't step on my arm!!"

"Who is stepping on my hand..."

The most comical was a male ghost, his eyes almost popping out of their sockets, glaring fiercely. He shouted loudly, "Where is my brother? Which one of you has seen my brother?!!!"

Perhaps due to his overly agitated emotions, Qin Ruan finally stopped.

And the other ghosts were also drawn to this emotionally volatile male ghost.

The big brother could be seen holding an indescribable, seemingly hilarious area, as he fiercely lowered his head to search on the ground.

Qin Ruan's lips twitched, revealing a look of embarrassment.

As the male ghost passed by, the other ghosts retreated one after another, as if they were extremely afraid of him.

Soon, the male ghost found a piece of flesh hanging with blood on the ground.

The other ghosts and Qin Ruan noticed each other's gaze. The person quietly turned around and fidgeted for a while before facing Qin Ruan again, with a cold and displeased expression.

Even so, they didn't dare to accuse Qin Ruan of anything.

The whip had been too painful for them.

Qin Ruan sat back in her chair, let out a soft breath, and calmly asked, "Why are you still lingering in the mortal realm without any messengers coming to guide you to the Underworld?"

"What messengers? We haven't seen any!" replied the male ghost who was looking for his brothers, his voice deep and heavy.

The other ghosts stood behind him, treating him as their leader.

Qin Ruan raised an eyebrow, her gaze icy and her tone dismissive. "Are you Li Manning's agent?"

The male ghost wasn't too surprised that Qin Ruan recognized him. He even had a smug sense of self-satisfaction. "You know me?"

Qin Ruan lowered her eyes and played with the golden whip in her hand, casually saying, "The deceased were all part of Li Manning's studio. It's not difficult to guess your identity when the ghosts behind you fear you."

The agent's face turned pale, and his distorted expression was about to say something.

But upon seeing the golden whip in Qin Ruan's hand and remembering the pain it inflicted on him, he slowly closed his mouth.

Qin Ruan leaned lazily against the chair, her indifferent gaze sweeping over the puppets, a faint smile playing at the corners of her mouth. "Since you haven't encountered any Underworld messengers and are still lingering in the mortal realm, it means you haven't yet cleared your sins."

The ghosts exchanged glances, but none of them voiced any objection.

Qin Ruan continued, "You all died because of Li Manning. I won't ask each of you what you did to Li Manning. Once you confess voluntarily and make it clear, I will send you to the Underworld."

One of the female ghost who had previously asked about Qin Ruan couldn't help but exclaim with excitement, "Is that true?"

Qin Ruan nodded slightly, "I never break my word."

The female ghost immediately stepped forward, raising her hand and speaking urgently, "Then let me go first!"

Qin Ruan lifted her chin, indicating that she was listening.

The female ghost frowned, and the remaining half of her face revealed resentment. "I didn't do anything that would upset Sister Manning. It's just that one time when she wanted to go out to see her child, I didn't let her."

"Child?" Qin Ruan's eyes widened slightly.

Even though she paid little attention to Li Manning, she knew for sure that Li Manning was single and had never been married.

The woman ghost nodded forcefully, and occasionally drops of brain matter fell to the ground, creating a horrifying scene.

She sneered and expressed her disgust, saying, "Yes, Manning gave birth to a child with another man. It's a boy."

Despite referring to Manning as "Manning sister," her words clearly revealed her disdain for Li Manning.

Qin Ruan narrowed her eyes and asked, "Anything else?"

The woman ghost shook her head and said, "That's all. I once tried to stop her from going out, but she killed me. How could I be resigned to that? When I reach the underworld, I will definitely plead my case!"

"Well, good luck to you!" Qin Ruan waved her hand, signaling the ghost to step aside.

Her dark and piercing cold gaze swept over the remaining ghosts and she asked, "Who's next?"

"Me!"

A male ghost floated forward, looking timid and fearful.

In a weak tone, he said, "I, I helped Mr. Li and Mrs. Li tie sister Manning to the bed, preventing her from leaving the house."

Qin Ruan furrowed her brow and asked, "Why did you tie her up?"

The male ghost glanced at the manager ghost, met his gloomy gaze, and instinctively swallowed, his voice hoarse, "I'm not sure about the reason. I simply follow Mr. Li, Mrs. Li, and Brother Zhao's orders."

He pointed at the manager and continued, "I'm not aware of many things. Brother Zhao has been with sister Manning for over ten years, and he knows more than we do."

So, the manager's surname is Zhao. Qin Ruan fixed her gaze on him.

It must be said that among the many lost souls present, only this manager named Zhao emitted a black aura, tinged with a hint of red.

Sorry for the delay in updating while I was busy enjoying the gossip.

Tomorrow, I promise to update earlier.
