Arc 2 Chapter 80: Gamer God, Please Don't Tease (37)
A couple of years ago, Su Xun had gone crazy and insisted on retiring, which still haunted everyone to this day. Although Luo Liyan had joined the world of League of Legends they were keen on winning her over to persuade Su Xun to return to the professional scene. But they hadn't even prepared the groundwork for this.
Now seeing Su Xun's reaction, they realized that he hadn't told his sweetheart about his past as a professional esports player. Maybe he was afraid? After all, there was a significant difference between dating someone who loved to play games and someone who played games professionally.
So, could they be spilling the beans now?
The group glanced at Su Xun who looked like he was ready to devour them and the silence was deafening.
"Su Xun did I ask something I shouldn't have?" Luo Liyan felt uncertain.
"No." Su Xun's oppressive aura instantly dissipated. His hands hung at his sides, tightly clenched into fists. Su Xun knew that as a retired esports player he could have easily concocted an excuse to deceive Luo Liyan. He could have kept her away from LAS members in the future. But he couldn't bring himself to lie to his beloved girl. So, despite his fear he chose to tell her the truth.
"Luo Liyan have you ever heard of esports?"
"Esports? Are you talking about the gaming industry where they compete in professional tournaments?" Luo Liyan blinked at Su Xun trying to appear as innocent and unknowledgeable as possible.
"Yes." Su Xun's lips tightened into a thin line, his face slightly pale. "I used to play in the League of Legends professional league for a while, which is why they've been calling me captain."
So... would you hate me?
Hate my past spending all my time in front of a computer, playing games?
Su Xun stared at Luo Liyan, afraid to see even a hint of disgust or repulsion in her eyes.
"Really?" Luo Liyan's eyes widened, looking like bronze bells. She raised her fist and gently tapped his chest. "You didn't tell me when we talked earlier today, that's not fair."
Her response relieved everyone and they quietly exhaled breaking into a relieved smile.
"But isn't the LPL season starting soon? Why are you so leisurely just staying at home? Don't you need to go into seclusion for training?" Luo Liyan still had some doubts and questions.
"I've already retired." Su Xun replied resolutely without hesitation.
He had never been happier about his early retirement. Otherwise, he wouldn't be sitting here sharing a meal and conversation with Luo Liyan.
"Aren't you only 23 years old?" Luo Liyan gently bit her lower lip puzzled. "I read online that esports professionals retire at 25."
Ha... wasn't it because you didn't like the idea of a man sitting in front of the computer playing games all the time?
Once Luo Liyan said this, everyone except Su Xun sneered inwardly. The sudden freeze in the atmosphere made Luo Liyan uncomfortable and she reached out to tug on Su Xun's clothes.
