"Hmm? I agree with that too!" Su Xun nodded in agreement.
Luo Liyan hesitated, wanting to take some of the items out of the cart, but Su Xun firmly held her hand.
"Why buy less? I think you're right eating so much and not gaining any weight is a bit of a waste. We can prepare some dessert." Su Xun gave her hand a reassuring squeeze secretly releasing a sigh of satisfaction.
Luo Liyan couldn't believe her ears. "You think I'm thin?"
At 165 cm, she was almost 110 pounds and although she was tall her small chest made her self-conscious. The weight seemed to go to all the wrong places.
"In a man's eyes someone like you is just skin and bones." Su Xun nodded seriously.
But beneath his apparent seriousness there was a playful glint in his eyes. In reality, he wished Luo Liyan could gain a little more weight. He imagined how comfortable it would be to hold her if she were a bit plumper. Plus, if she were a bit heavier maybe fewer people would try to take her away from him.
That way he could keep pampering her for the rest of their lives. Apart from himself there wouldn't be a single person in the world who could put up with her mood swings. That would ensure she'd never leave him.
Luo Liyan thought Su Xun made a reasonable point. After all, there were differences in aesthetic preferences between men and women.
Seeing that Luo Liyan didn't respond to him for a while, Su Xun looked at her thoughtfully.
"Did I buy something you don't like?"
Even though he secretly collected a lot of information related to Luo Liyan, there were still gaps in his knowledge. Maybe she used to like something but suddenly she didn't and he hadn't updated his information in time.
"No, I just think it's a bit wasteful to buy so much when it's so expensive." Luo Liyan denied quickly. She didn't want to say anything she didn't like right now because she might want it later. She didn't want to slap herself in the face by contradicting herself.
"Well, in that case there's no problem," Su Xun said gently tapping Luo Liyan's smooth forehead with his index finger. "Since I'm treating you to a meal, I can't be stingy."
"Um... hehe... I'm not picky." Luo Liyan said with an awkward smile. Now that Su Xun had said he wanted to treat her to something delicious she wouldn't be too fussy.
She could always treat him to something nice a few days later when she got her salary.
"I'll go prepare dinner. Can you watch TV by yourself for a while?" Su Xun looked at the couple's slippers he had prepared for Luo Liyan in the shoe cabinet. He hesitated for a moment and then picked up a regular pair of slippers placing them by Luo Liyan's feet. The couple's slippers were too conspicuous and he was afraid that if Luo Liyan misunderstood it would be awkward for both of them.
"I can join you." Luo Liyan said changing into the slippers and looking at Su Xun expectantly. While she couldn't cook, she was skilled in cutting and preparing ingredients. Whenever she got angry with her roommates, she would buy a lot of fish and meat to vent her frustration. Over the years they had all assumed her behavior was just an attempt to please them.
