Chapter 88: Bone-Piercing Hand

The old lady's heart became more and more uncomfortable. she hadn't lost weight? She looked even thinner than the last time they met, and visibly older.

She couldn't help but glare at Zhang Shu, who was standing next to her daughter. She was obviously blaming him.

Zhang Shu looked guilty and said, "I'm sorry, Mother. I didn't take good care of her."

Da Ya quickly changed the subject, "Grandma, where's Er Ya? I want to see her."

The old lady turned around and shouted to Shu Yu behind her, "Er Ya, come and meet your sister and brother-in-law."

Shu Yu came over to Da Ya and she excitedly grabbed her hand, looking her up and down. "Good, good. Our Er Ya is safe and sound, back home where she belongs. The family is reunited and won't leave again, ah."

Shu Yu nodded, "Yes, I'm back, Sister."

She hugged Da Ya's hand, but found that her body was almost all bone, very bony to the touch.

Shu Yu couldn't help but frown, but Da Ya quickly let go of her and smiled, "Let's go inside. We can talk there."

Shu Yu looked at her sister's complexion, with dark circles and eye bags under her eyes, and her lips without much color, not to mention her pale face.

How could life be so bad that it could make a person deteriorate to this extent?

Shu Yu guessed that Da Ya had a hard life, but she didn't expect it to be this difficult.

She opened her mouth and looked straight at Zhang Shu, until Da Ya squeezed her hand. Only then did Shu Yu suppress her anger and held onto Da Ya's hand tightly. The group then entered the house together.

Zhang Shu, after accompanying Da Ya to see Lu Er Bai, went to a corner and spoke quietly with Da Niu and Lai Jin Hai, very conscious of his presence.

Da Ya was very concerned about Shu Yu, asking her where she had been for these years, how she was doing, and whether she had suffered.

Shu Yu used her old words, and Da Ya listened before feeling relieved.

Soon, the old lady came over to call them for dinner. 

Lu Sixing still hadn't arrived, and the old lady thought there might be something holding her up. 

"Let's eat first. I'll save some food for them. We can't have the whole family waiting with empty stomachs for them." 

Since many people came, two tables were set up, one in the main room and one in the kitchen. 

As soon as the food was served, everyone immediately felt their stomachs grumbling. The food was even more abundant than they had imagined. Although there were more vegetables, there were also fish, meat, and eggs. The food was oily and delicious, making everyone drool with hunger. 

The old lady glanced at everyone and said, "Let's eat." 

Almost everyone subconsciously reached for the meat dishes, except for Da Ya, who smiled and picked up a chopstick to take the closest dish of silk gourd to her. 

Shu Yu sat two seats away from Daya but had been paying attention to her. In the end, Daya didn't eat much. This made Shu Yu furrow her brow. 

After finishing the meal, Lu Sixing still hadn't arrived, and they estimated that she might not be coming. The old lady was just about to ask Da Niu to run over and check when she heard Zhang Shu and Da Ya say that they were leaving. 

"The plan was for you to stay at home today. Your younger sister has just come back, don't you want to spend some time with her?" The old lady was surprised. 

Da Ya wanted to stay, but she was hesitant. 

She held the old lady's hand and said with a smile, "I had already promised my mother-in-law that we would return early. It's not very appropriate to stay here for too long." 

Shu Yu looked at Zhang Shu, who just stood there silently.
