Chapter 30: Embrace
Chapter 30: Embrace
Ruan Shi nodded eagerly. "Yes, yes, there is."
Old lady Ruan suddenly looked at her, furious. "What do you mean? Do you really believe this girl with an unknown origin over your own mother? Why would I bring a fake to impersonate Er Ya?"
Ruan Shi shrank back, and Shu Yu stood in front of her, smirking at the obviously guilty old lady Ruan. "Why are you so nervous? Didn't you say it yourself, if it's really Er Ya, her own mother would definitely know? Also, when you stole Er Ya away, you were so flustered and probably didn't pay attention to anything else, except for the two birthmarks on her arm."
"I...I..." Old lady Ruan couldn't speak.
She really didn't know what kind of markings Er Ya had on her body. At that time, she was in such a hurry to get away that she didn't even have time to open the swaddling clothes. After all, the other party wanted a boy, so she tricked the buyer.
In such a situation, she didn't even have the chance to argue back, as Shu Yu didn't give her the opportunity.
Shu Yu turned to Ruan Shi. "What else can prove that this is the real Er Ya?"
Ruan Shi steadied her nerves, and seeing Shu Yu's calm demeanor, she couldn't help but feel relieved.
Taking a deep breath, she said, "Can I take a look at the back of your necks? Er Ya has a mole the size of a grain of rice on the back of her neck."
This was something that the Lu family hadn't told anyone. Also, with so many people around, it wasn't appropriate to mention other parts of the body.
Old lady Ruan and the girl looked at each other, and Old lady Ruan wanted to throw a tantrum. But Shu Yu had already pushed her hair to one side of her shoulder and calmly allowed Ruan Shi to see.
Shu Yu couldn't see the back of her neck herself, nor did she know if she really had such a mole. But she knew that the investigation by the head of Dongqing Temple couldn't be wrong.
With just one glance, tears flowed uncontrollably from Ruan Shi's eyes. If she was only eighty or ninety percent certain before, seeing the birthmark on the back of her neck now, Ruan Shi was certain that she was Er Ya.
"It's you, you're Er Ya, my daughter." Ruan Shi cried and hugged Shu Yu directly. "Er Ya, mother missed you so much. I almost thought I would never see you again in this life. Er Ya, you're finally back, sob..."
Shu Yu was a little dazed by her embrace. For many years, she had not been hugged with such intense emotion by anyone. In her previous life, her parents had died early, and she was single-mindedly seeking revenge, sometimes even using any means necessary. She had hardly had any close friends and did not trust anyone, let alone the kind of emotions that made her feel confined.
No one had ever hugged her, even when she had risen higher later on. She had always been alone on her way forward, forever on her own.
Now, facing Ruan Shi's tears, Shu Yu's hands were a little awkward, and for once, she didn't know how to react.
After a while, she lifted her hand slightly and clumsily patted Ruan Shi's back, whispering, "Don't cry."
"Yes, I won't cry. It's a happy thing that you're back home. How could I cry?" Ruan Shi finally reluctantly let go of her, wiped away her tears, and looked up at her, carefully examining her from her forehead to her nose and then to her mouth, as if she didn't want to miss even a single strand of her hair.
Shu Yu felt quite uncomfortable being looked at like this and was about to say something to shift the focus, but then she heard a terrified scream in her ear.

Well that's nice, I understand MC not wanting to be tied down and being used to being by herself after what she went through but some families are nice, I really can't relate that much since I hate my family and havent seen them in a while but I can understand the feeling of wanting a happy family.
