Her gaze swept across the people present, including her father and siblings, but not one of them stepped forward to speak.

However, Shu Yu remembered that in the book, Xue Yiniang did not die. She was also on the list of those banished. she did not know how she had escaped this disaster.

Just like that, Shu Yu understood why Xue Yiniang was so cruel to her own daughter back then.

Little Shu Yu had not only gone hungry and fought with dogs over food, but also had a high fever and was left in the room to die on her own. She had knelt under the scorching sun in the yard, apologizing until she fainted. She had even almost been beaten to death by Xue Yinian.
