Chapter 65: Da Ya Visits

Chapter 65: Da Ya Visits

It's good that the news spread around, so that outsiders would know that the Lu family is not easy to mess with now.

Shu Yu walked straight home and saw Liang Shi at the door. Liang Shi must have known what she had done and gave her a guilty smile before heading back into the house.

But she quickly turned around and said, "Er Ya, Da Ya heard that you were found and came over yesterday afternoon. She waited at your home for a long time and even cleaned inside and outside your house. She even fed the chickens. But since you didn't return, her husband came to pick her up."

Da Ya? Shu Yu had actually heard San Ya mention this elder sister before. She had married into Dayan Village and lived a mediocre life, with many family matters to attend to and few opportunities to return home.

San Ya didn't give too many details, but Shu Yu could sense from her tone that Da Ya wasn't doing too well. Otherwise, why would she only come back every few months or even half a year despite the relatively short distance between Dayan Village and Lu Family's village?

Shu Yu sighed and replied to Liang Shi, "I understand. I'll go to Dayan Village to check on her and give her some peace of mind."

As she was about to enter the house, she suddenly turned her head and asked, "Da Ya fed the chickens? Didn't San Uncle say he did it?"

"Oh, don't even get me started on that. I told him that Da Ya had already done it, but he didn't listen and insisted on feeding them again. He said it was our mother's instructions, but I don't believe him. When did he ever listen to our mother? I don't know if his brain went bad after going out for a while. He's such a wastrel, always eating his fill and causing trouble. He even scared the neighbors with all the chicken noises when he entered your house in the middle of the night. They almost thought there was a thief."

Liang Shi ranted and raved, clearly still angry about the situation.

Looking up, Shu Yu saw that Lu Sanzhu had already entered the house, so she closed her mouth and grumbled a few times before going back inside.

After entering the gate, Shu Yu looked at the messy yard and the corner where the chicken coop was located. She couldn't help but touch her forehead.

It seems that asking Lu Sanzhu to feed the chickens was a mistake. The neat yard had been messed up.

She picked up the overturned stool and put it back in place before entering the main room. As soon as she entered, she noticed a strange little basket on the table. Inside the basket was a light blue cloth with several large peaches pressed down on the bottom.

This basket was not here when she left yesterday. Now, not only was it here, but there was also a piece of cloth suitable for making clothes for a girl. She didn't need to think twice to know that it was probably a gift from Da Ya.

She was struggling to get by, yet Da Ya still sent such a nice gift. She didn't know how long Da Ya had been saving up for this.

Shu Yu touched the cloth and then picked up the basket before going back inside. She rearranged the yard, fed the chickens, and then began to examine the whole yard.

Shu Yu wanted to build another room. She couldn't leave for the time being, and the Lu family wouldn't let her leave either. She needed her own private space because she still had some secrets to keep. Having an independent room would be more convenient.

But she couldn't let her grandmother stay at Uncle's house forever. That wouldn't look good. If she added a room, the cost wouldn't be too high, and it would only take a few days.

While building the room, she could also repair the damaged parts, making life more comfortable for the whole family.

As Shu Yu was contemplating, she heard Lu Sanzhu's exclamation outside, "The Ruan family is in trouble, the Ruan family is in trouble."

  1. that fucking guy haha.

Damn .... you already know the daughter is treated like a servant by everyone and shes having a terrible time, if the author wants to go for extra pity points she'll also have a daughter that's also bullied cuz the family wanted a son and calls her a failure and such.
