Chapter 167: The Peasant Girl’s Splendid Manor
Chapter 167: Dealing with the Troublemaker on the Roof (1)
As Mo Yan walked out, she saw a group of people pushing and shoving their way over. Among them were men and women, young and old, and the one shouting the loudest was a middle-aged man of about thirty. Behind them, a crowd of villagers followed, eager to witness the commotion.
When the group saw Mo Yan, their expressions became somewhat evasive, and none dared to meet her gaze.
The middle-aged man suddenly pushed away the people holding him back and rushed towards Mo Yan, his face fierce as he shouted, "Call your father out, now!"
Mo Yan's expression turned cold, and she ignored him, looking instead at the group behind him with a softer expression. "Fellow villagers, my father is not here right now. If you have any issues, you can talk to me."
Treat others with the respect they give you. Mo Yan didn't even bother to entertain the middle-aged man who started cursing as soon as he arrived.
The group of people looked at each other, all shrinking back, none willing to step forward to speak.
Mo Yan frowned. These people clearly came with a purpose, but now they were acting like this. What was going on?
The middle-aged man, seeing Mo Yan ignore him, became furious. "You little wench, what qualifications do you have to act so arrogantly? Go and bring your father here!"
"Little wench?" Mo Yan looked at him coldly. "Are you from the gutter? Otherwise, why is your mouth so foul?"
"Pfft, hahaha!"
The spectators burst into laughter, pointing at the middle-aged man and laughing heartily.
Enraged, the middle-aged man's face turned red as he waved his fists and cursed at those laughing at him, threatening Mo Yan, "Just because you're a girl, don't think I won't hit you. Get your father here now, you little brat!"
Mo Yan was furious, wishing she could slap the annoying guy away. "If you have the guts, go find him yourself. If not, then get lost. The Mo family's land is not welcoming to bullies who prey on the weak."
"You! You little wench, I'll teach you a lesson!"
In a fit of rage, the middle-aged man swung his fist at Mo Yan's face.
Mo Yan snorted and swiftly dodged the blow, avoiding it entirely.
The middle-aged man was stunned, clearly not expecting Mo Yan to dodge his fist. Feeling embarrassed, he rushed forward, aiming an even heavier punch at her.
"Wang Dali, you dare hit a little girl. You're quite capable!"
Just as Mo Yan was considering whether to dodge this punch and teach the man a lesson, a familiar voice sounded in her ears. A bony hand appeared in front of her, gently pushing the descending fist back.
Wang Dali, the middle-aged man, stumbled and fell to the ground like a clumsy turtle, looking particularly ridiculous.
Laughter erupted all around, and Wang Dali quickly got up from the ground, his face turning as red as a pig's liver. He glared angrily at those who laughed at him, but didn't dare to direct his anger at the "culprit," Lin Yong.
Lin Yong cast a cold glance at him and turned to ask Mo Yan, "Are you alright?"
Mo Yan smiled, "I'm fine, luckily Brother Lin arrived just in time."
Lin Yong pulled the corner of his lips, his face cold as he asked Wang Dali, "Why are you causing trouble for the Mo family?"
"I, I just want, want to represent the, the villagers who were, were cheated by the Mo, Mo family and seek, seek justice from the Mo, Mo family."
Wang Dali stammered, his neck shrinking as he spoke under Lin Yong's icy gaze, clearly afraid of Lin Yong.
