Chapter 80: Night Before the Divorce the Villainous Family Can Hear My Thoughts!

Chapter 80: Your Precious Miss Li Is Badmouthing Me Behind My Back

Huo Yunshan felt a cold breeze sweep over him, and he couldn't help but shudder.

"Huo Yunshan, do you not have a wife? Or children? You’re hospitalized, and yet you don’t inform your wife and children, but let a widow care for you up close?"

"Everyone knows you're In-laws, but those who don’t know might think you two are actually a married couple!"

"Do you think my Wen family’s daughter is easy to bully?"

"No, no, no!" Huo Yunshan was so frightened that he jumped up from the hospital bed. He hurriedly got out of bed and walked toward the old man, speaking softly, "Dad, don’t be angry. How could I ever bully Yintong?"

"I cherish her, I couldn’t do anything to hurt her! We’ve been married for over thirty years, and I’ve always kept her close to my heart."

"You cherish her?" The old man glared at him, his gaze sharp. "You cherish her, yet you let your mother and that widow insult her and bully her?"

"Today, I’m here, and they dare bully my daughter in front of me! How have they treated her when I’m not around? Huh!"

The last "Huh!" was practically squeezed out from between the old man’s teeth, and his eagle-like eyes fixed on Huo Yunshan.

"Uncle Wen, you’ve misunderstood. We’ve never bullied Yintong," Yu Fengcai quickly tried to explain. "We love Yintong very much. Yes, this was my fault. I didn’t inform Yintong about Yunshan’s illness right away. It’s all my fault!"

"It’s your fault, whose fault should it be?" the old man coldly retorted. "You, a widow, don’t even know how to avoid suspicion? Don’t you understand that widows bring trouble? How can you, a widow, live under the same roof with him?"

"Huo Xinglang!" The old man raised his voice even more.

Huo Xinglang, who had been pondering with furrowed brows, snapped back to reality and quickly walked to the old man’s side, smiling and trying to please him. "Grandpa, what can I do for you?"

"You’re already in your thirties, and your mother, a widow, doesn’t understand the need to avoid suspicion. Do you not understand either?" The old man’s gaze was like a dagger, each word heavy with accusation. "You hold an important position in the Wen family and have seen many things. How can you not understand basic propriety?"

"Tell me, have you ever seen a widow and her brother-in-law living under the same roof, especially when the wife’s not at home?"

"Should I understand that you agree with it?"

"No, no, no!" Huo Xinglang quickly denied. "Grandpa, please don’t be angry. I definitely don’t agree with it, I—"

"Then why didn’t you take your mother away?" The old man interrupted harshly. "Why are you all here in Yunshan’s hospital room? Who are you trying to show this to? Who are you trying to impress?"

"Grandpa, my mom went to take care of my second aunt. She was injured, and my mom—"

"Is that so?" The old man sneered. "But my daughter, in my Wen family, hasn’t been taking care of me. I only see a widow attending to her married brother-in-law! She might as well be undressing him!"

Huo Xinglang was at a loss for words.

This... was utterly unreasonable!

"Dad, stop," Wen Yintong finally spoke, pulling the old man’s arm. "There’s no need for us to stay here. Let’s go. Don’t let this upset you."

"Xingjian, take Grandpa for a full check-up. We don’t want him to get upset over this family nonsense."

"Grandpa, I’ll take you to the check-up," Huo Xingjian supported the old man as they moved towards the door.

"Xingjian," Huo Xinglang called out urgently, catching up to him. "I’ll accompany you to check on Grandpa..."

"No need!" Huo Xingjian interrupted him coldly. "Stay with Grandma. They need you more. We’ll take care of Grandpa."

"Yes, yes, yes!" Huo Yushu nodded in agreement. "Cousin, you should stay with Dad and Grandma. Grandpa doesn’t need your help, we’ll take care of him."

"Mom, Sister-in-law, let’s go!" Wen Yintong linked arms with Shen Cheng, and the three of them left.

From start to finish, Shen Cheng hadn’t said a word. She moved like an invisible person—transparent when she came, and transparent when she left.

In the hospital room, only the five members of the Huo family remained.

They exchanged glances, each face showing a mix of emotions that words could not express.

"Ah!"

Suddenly, Huo Yuyan let out a high-pitched scream. "I can’t take it anymore! Why are they so high and mighty, so self-righteous?!"

"Grandma, now you’ve seen it with your own eyes, right? You know how my mom has been treated there?"

"She dared to point at me and scold me in front of you... Uncle! Think about it—how much humiliation has my uncle endured in the Wen family all these years?"

"And my mom, what’s wrong with her taking care of my uncle? How can they insult her like that?"

Old Madam Huo was equally furious.

Not just because of Wen Yintong’s attitude, but also because of Wen Grandpa’s attitude.

Wait, before, whenever she acted pitiful and spoke a few words of grievance, that old man would always stand by her side!

But now...

Was he out of his mind? Not only didn’t he help her, but he actually said she was wrong?

This was something Old Madam Huo couldn’t accept.

Since Huo Yunshan married Wen Yintong, she had been living like a queen.

Not only did the family respect and pamper her, but even outsiders fawned over her, elevating her high.

When she walked out, her head was held high, and her nose was in the air!

"Mom, don’t be angry," Yu Fengcai quickly patted her back in a comforting gesture, trying to soothe her. "Yintong didn’t mean to upset you. It’s my fault for not doing things right. She’s angry at me and is taking it out on Yunshan."

"Later, Xinglang and I will go to the Wen family and apologize to her and Mr. Wen. Please don’t let this upset your health. Yunshan and I will be heartbroken."

Old Madam Huo took a deep breath, forcibly suppressing her anger.

She patted her hand and smiled with satisfaction. "If only Wen Yintong were half as sensible as you. I’ve always said, marry a virtuous woman. How could she, a young lady, care about others' feelings?"

"It’s really unfortunate for the family to marry such a person! And that Shen Cheng—she’s no good either!"

"Exactly!" Huo Yuyan chimed in. "Shen Cheng is the worst! My second brother doesn’t like her, yet she keeps clinging to him! She’s ruining the relationship between my second brother and Qingxue!"

"Grandma, you must support Qingxue!"

"Ah-choo!" Shen Cheng sneezed suddenly.

"What’s wrong?" Huo Xingjian let go of the old man and walked over to her. "Did the cold air give you a chill?"

He quickly took off his suit jacket and draped it over her shoulders.

"Let me guess, your precious Miss Li is badmouthing me behind my back. Do you believe that?"
