You even rushed to the palace last night to request a marriage decree but the Empress Dowager criticized your daughter for meeting a man outside, questioning her virtue. She said she's unworthy to be the wife of the country's general." Minister Li's loud voice was meant to make sure everyone heard.
These two had always held differing political views in the court and their accumulated grudges over the past dozen years finally found an opportunity to humiliate this high-minded man, who thought so highly of himself.
"You..." The Marquis of An Yong was so angry that he trembled, unable to say a word of retort pointing at Minister Li's smirking face.

This left Minister Li trembling, his legs turning to jelly as he nearly knelt to the ground.

"Why is Minister Li still standing here? Are you interested in my family affairs too? I and my father-in-law have personal matters to discuss." Weichi Che raised an eyebrow and gave Minister Li a smirking look.
