PWDLAW Chapter 151: Taking Responsibility
Chapter 151: Taking Responsibility "Mom, I'm already very happy now, there's no need for protection." Chu Ziluo couldn't help but smile brightly upon hearing Ye Muyu's words. Chu Jin, who didn't fully understand, asked "Mom, so I'm still a younger brother but I can do things that older brothers do?" "Exactly." Ye Mu Yu replied amused by his words. For the sensible child like Ziluo, Ye Muyu's care and guidance were most appropriate. However, with Chu Jin being more robust Ye Muyu hoped he could grow into a responsible man. Chu Jin's eyes lit up upon hearing this. "Mom, I understand." "Sister, Mom, let's eat quickly. Once you're done, I can eat too," Chu Jin urged. Seeing him so cheerful and content, Ye Muyu was somewhat surprised but also satisfied. She then began to eat. Ziluo followed suit, picking up her chopsticks. Chu Jin started eating, remembering not to waste food, eating slower than usual. After finishing their lunch, all three of them were full. Ye Muyu cleaned up the dishes and then they took a nap. An hour later, Ye Muyu woke up and noticed that the sky outside was a bit gloomy, suggesting rain. Thinking about the recent wheat harvest, she's worried that this sudden rainstorm might hinder the process. Ye Muyu hurriedly covered the well to prevent rainwater from spoiling the milk inside the bucket. A loud rumble and the rain started pouring down. Voices from the neighboring houses could be heard indicating that people were rushing to harvest their crops. Ye Muyu looked at the rain falling from the sky making the surroundings dark and somewhat intimidating. However, the air immediately cooled down. Watching the rain curtain while sitting under the eaves, Ye Muyu remembered the weather when she had just arrived here. Unexpectedly, a month had passed so quickly. She had gradually adapted to life here. Indeed, humans were remarkably adaptable. Thinking about the people she had gotten to know for a moment, a trace of reluctance emerged. The two children were the ones she had spent the most time with. Surprisingly memories from her past life seemed to have become distant. Ye Muyu sighed, chuckled, and shook her head. It seemed like she didn't want to go back. "Mom, won't there be classes in the village school? The rain is so heavy." Chu Ziluo, who was sewing a handkerchief asked. "Let's wait and see. If it's still raining in a quarter of an hour, the village school might not have classes. Someone will come to deliver the news then." "Okay." Chu Ziluo obediently sat aside, occasionally looking out towards the courtyard. Because of the recent theft, the courtyard gate was usually closed. However, due to the rain it was now left open to allow rainwater to flow out along the stone slabs. "The rain is getting heavier." A few thunderclaps and a downpour followed. Ye Muyu got up to inspect the house ensuring there were no leaks. The rain continued for half an hour before finally stopping. When the rain had reduced to a drizzle, Ye Muyu, holding an umbrella, said, "Ziluo you wait at home. I'll go pick up your little brother." "Mom, you can go. I'll make some ginger soup." Chu Ziluo had been cooking since the age of five. Although Ye Muyu initially didn't let her enter the kitchen, considering the female art competition which included culinary skills she allowed Ziluo to cook occasionally.
