PWDLAW Chapter 156: Pretending?
Chapter 156: Pretending?
He would never let anything happen to Ye Muyu.
"Here, take the medicine and feed her. Ye Muyu can't swallow it, I was just worried." Although Chu Liushi felt that Chu Heng's aura was a bit intense and his emotions were fluctuating, she couldn't care less when she thought about Ye Muyu's current condition.
Chu Heng took the medicine and entered the room.
Sitting by the bedside, he gently cooled the medicine and then used a spoon to feed Ye Muyu. In a low, serious tone, he said, "Ye Muyu, as long as you take the medicine and wake up, I'll give you a chance to get to know you slowly."
"I know you're different and I like these changes." Chu Heng finished speaking and pursed his lips.
It was like the first time he had spoken from his heart. Unaccustomed to it, he also noticed that the medicine wasn't going down her throat even though he was feeding it to her with precise movements.
Thinking of what his mother said, he deliberately spoke with a hint of anger, "Ye Muyu, if you don't drink it, I'll force you."
The person in front of him remained unresponsive.
Chu Heng furrowed his brows, eventually looking at the medicine in the spoon. He poured it into his mouth and then fed it to Ye Muyu himself.
When their lips touched, Chu Heng's body trembled. He looked at the woman in front of him, so close and yet so familiar.
Her warm breath sprayed on his nose and although Chu Heng's earlobes turned red, a hint of surprise flashed in his eyes. It seemed that his breath had become heavier for a moment.
What's going on?
Chu Heng handed the spoon with the medicine to Ye Muyu. As he did, he scrutinized the woman lying on the bed.
Could it be... she's awake?
Chu Heng's expression darkened instantly. Could it be that Ye Muyu was trying to deceive him?
Pretending not to wake up?
Thinking like this, Chu Heng decided to verify directly. He leaned in, getting close to Ye Muyu's face but this time, there was no medicine in his mouth.
Approaching, he found that her breathing was very light, almost non-existent.
With a stern expression, Chu Heng maintained this posture, not moving. He refused to believe that she could keep pretending.
In the kitchen.
Seeing that Chu Heng hadn't come out for a long time, Chu Liushi, carrying the ginger soup, decided to go to the east wing.
She pushed the door open directly, "Third son, the medicine is finished. Have some ginger soup as well..."
Chu Liushi's voice was instantly stuck in her throat. She widened her eyes watching the beastly scene before her.
In a hurry, she covered her eyes. "Third son, are you a hungry ghost reincarnated? Your wife is unconscious and you're still in the mood to do... cough cough, quickly get up!"
Chu Liushi didn't finish the rest of her words because it was just too embarrassing. She rushed forward and pulled Chu Heng up.
Chu Heng stood up obediently, his brows furrowed. He had proved for at least the time it took for an incense stick to burn. Ye Muyu's breathing remained extremely light. Could she hold her breath for so long?
Chu Heng straightened his body. "Mother, where is Doctor Lu?"
"Doctor Lu was taken away by people from the Tang family after examining Ye." Chu Liushi was puzzled.
"Mother, take care of her. I'll go find Doctor Lu." Chu Heng instructed and then walked out of the courtyard.
Chu Liushi frowned, "What's wrong with this child?"
"This medicine hasn't been finished yet. Forget it, I'll feed her again." Chu Liushi struggled to feed Ye Muyu with the medicine. Perhaps because Ye Muyu was unconscious, it was challenging for her and most of the medicine spilled out with each spoonful.
Chu Liushi didn't care about wasting it anymore. She took out a soft cloth and placed it on Ye Muyu's neck to prevent the medicine from flowing onto the bed. Then she continued to feed her spoonful by spoonful.
