Chu Heng took large strides onto the ox cart and Chu Lin naturally didn't waste any time. "Third Brother, put on your hat."
Chu Heng furrowed his brows finding it hard to understand. He had never encountered such an incident in his previous life and Ye Muyu was living well. How did this sudden mishap occur?
Thinking of Ye Muyu, Chu Heng surprisingly found himself unwilling to see anything happen to her.
How could he have developed feelings for Ye Muyu...?
Chu Heng was not a foolish person. Exactly because of this, when he realized that he had feelings for Ye Muyu, he found it even more incredible. However, he took it seriously. The thought that Ye Muyu might not wake up again made a strong feeling of reluctance emerge in his heart.
He couldn't help but recall the short month they spent together.
Although he hadn't met Ye Muyu many times he knew about the things she had done through their correspondence.
No matter what she did it was different from the Ye family member in his memory.
She was indeed different... Chu Heng's eyes flickered with determined light and he murmured, "Whoever you are, since you're by my side now..."
His unfinished words vanished into the air.
Half an hour later.
"Third Brother, you're back?" At this moment, only Chu Liushi was present in the Chu residence. Zhang and Wang had returned home to attend to their own matters.
Chu Liushi looked at the unconscious Ye Muyu with a worried expression. She couldn't even get her to take medicine;,, she had only managed to drink a small portion.
Now, seeing Chu Heng walk in, her heart finally settled. "Third Brother, go in and take a look. I'll heat up the medicine and ginger soup."
Chu Heng nodded, striding into the east wing.
Chu Lin, seeing Chu Heng enter, quickly walked up to Chu Liushi and also glanced at the east wing, asking with some concern, "Mother, is Third Sister-in-law okay?"
"She hasn't woken up yet. Let her take the medicine first and then we'll see."
"You go back first. I'll stay here temporarily to help take care of things. Xiao Jin is a sturdy child. He has already fallen asleep after taking the medicine." Chu Liushi informed her son.
Chu Lin looked and knew that he wasn't needed at the moment. There were also chores to be done at home, so he didn't insist.
"By the way, Mother, do you want me to bring a change of clothes for you?"
Chu Liushi's clothes had been half soaked when she brought back Ye Muyu. However, due to the fire in the kitchen, they had dried by now.
"No need, my clothes are already dry. Go back and tell your father to leave the household matters to your wife."
"I understand, Mother. You don't have to worry about the family."
Seeing that there was no need for him here, Chu Lin didn't linger.
Chu Heng entered the room, seeing Ye Muyu's pale face and her unconscious state, his brows furrowed instantly. He approached, reaching out to touch her forehead, "So cold."
He also touched her hand, equally cold.
Chu Heng suddenly realized that even though she was covered with a blanket, Ye Muyu's body was still extremely cold like ice.
He turned around abruptly and entered the kitchen. "Mother, what did Doctor Lu say? Why is Ye Muyu so cold?"
"Doctor Lu said that Madam Ye has suffered severe cold combined with her pre-existing poor health. If she wakes up, then everything is fine. If not..." Chu Liushi didn't finish her sentence.
Chu Heng angrily shouted, "Impossible!"
"Mother, where's the medicine? I'll boil it." Chu Heng's face was as dark as water, exuding the pressure even from his previous life. Chu Liushi was startled by this unfamiliar side of her third son.
After a while she finally spoke "Third son, are you okay?"
"I'm fine, Mother." Chu Heng tightly pursed his lips. Inside, a voice kept saying it was impossible, she couldn't possibly have an accident.
This guy and his "inconceivable!" 's are beginning to annoy me...he has a dream about another life, and he doesn't even begin to doubt that all of it is true? Everything has to happen as it did in the dream? He has no proof it was even real!
