PWDLAW Chapter 168: Chu Heng's Reflection

 Chapter 168: Chu Heng's Reflection

Since she had decided to stay, she would naturally take good care of her body. Her gaze fell on the bowl of medicine that Chu Heng was holding. "Is this my medicine? Give it to me."

"No, I'll feed you." Chu Heng not only didn't give the bowl to Ye Muyu but he also picked up a spoon and took the initiative to feed her the medicine.

Ye Muyu felt that Chu Heng was different, but she watched him cautiously and said, "You don't have to feed me. I can drink it myself. You should go to the academy to study right? Sorry for delaying you. I'm already awake and there shouldn't be any major problems. You should go back to study. Studying is difficult, don't let it be affected."

Ye Muyu spoke seriously. She had seen some of the test papers Chu Heng had done. Apart from the relatively simple knowledge that could be memorized, writing essays, which was equivalent to modern-day academic papers, so challenging.

Furthermore, it had to be completed within two hours, encompassing extensive knowledge and avoiding any unnecessary words.

Moreover, if one couldn't read a wide range of books, they might not even understand some of the allusions in the exam questions.

If students in the modern era only needed to read about a dozen or twenty books, the students participating in the imperial examinations in this era needed to read at least twenty foundational books.

It's no wonder the imperial examinations were challenging but there were still talents who passed.

Talented individuals existed in any era.

Ye Muyu was worried that she might be delaying Chu Heng's studies, which could in return affect their marriage. She had been working hard to guide their marriage in a mutually beneficial direction.

However, as soon as Ye Muyu finished speaking, she noticed a subtle change in Chu Heng's expression.

Chu Heng sat on the edge of the bed, his tone firm "I will feed you. You are my wife and I should take care of you."

"Oh." Ye Muyu, listening to his somewhat stubborn tone, found it somewhat amusing. It was the first time she had seen Chu Heng like this.

He used to be either very indifferent or very calm. Now, his persistence was quite rare.

Ye Muyu wasn't one to force things. Since someone was willing to feed her, she would enjoy it.

Leaning against the pillow, Chu Heng fed a spoonful of medicine and Ye Muyu took a sip. They coordinated exceptionally well.

Chu Heng's initially displeased heart gradually calmed down and he fed her the medicine effortlessly.

After finishing the medicine, Chu Heng took out a piece of sweetmeat from somewhere and fed it to Ye Muyu.

"So sweet." Ye Muyu looked at Chu Heng with surprise.

Chu Heng, looking calm, met her gaze and quickly regained his composure. He showed no signs of guilt. "The medicine is bitter."

"It's okay, medicines are supposed to be bitter." Ye Muyu's taste was the opposite of Chu Heng's habits. She didn't like sweet snacks much and if she eat sweets, she preferred a sour and sweet taste. So when she suddenly received a piece of sweetmeat, she found it a bit surprising.

"The medicine is bitter, so eat sweetmeat and it won't be bitter." Chu Heng frowned.

Ye Muyu was surprised. Was he worried that she couldn't handle bitterness?

Although there was a misunderstanding on his part, seeing Chu Heng's good intentions, Ye Muyu didn't intend to explain. She went along with his intentions and said nothing.

Chu Heng asked, "Do you want to rest?"

"I don't want to sleep right now. Can you tell me what happened during this day and night?" Ye Muyu felt a bit uncomfortable physically and her nose was a bit stuffy. It seemed like she caught a chill, and her body was weak. However, her spirits were not bad, perhaps due to sleeping too much. She didn't feel like sleeping at the moment.

"Don't force yourself." Chu Heng frowned, feeling that she was worrying too much. She had just woken up, so why bother with such worldly matters?

Perhaps it was because he wasn't at home and she had to worry about everything.
