PWDLAW Chapter 161: Will Wake Up
Chapter 161: Will Wake Up
Chu Heng felt that it was easy and comfortable to be with Ye Muyu, especially considering the unpleasant temperament of the previous Mrs. Ye.
Everyone in the family enjoyed being around the current Ye Muyu and no one suspected why she had undergone such a significant transformation.
As Chu Heng thought it over, with his intelligence he could naturally identify the loopholes.
A somewhat nostalgic smile appeared on his lips. "I still don't know who you really are."
"I thought the heavens were torturing me again but it turns out they were compensating me."
Chu Heng gently rubbed Ye Muyu's soft hand, leaned down and kissed her deeply. Their breaths intertwined and when he felt a subtle change in her breathing, though very slight a hint of joy flashed in Chu Heng's eyes. He quickly picked up the ginger soup next to him and fed Ye Muyu the medicine repeatedly.
Seeing Ye Muyu swallowing the medicine, Chu Heng's worries lessened a bit. However, as long as Ye Muyu didn't wake up, he still held his heart in his hands.
"Dad, can I come in?" Chu Ziluo knocked on the door.
Chu Heng stood up, carried the bowl of ginger soup and walked to the door. He opened it, glanced down at his daughter, and nodded. "Come in and watch your mother."
"I understand, Dad." Chu Ziluo nodded obediently, her eyes still red. She had been with her brother before and now seeing her mother not waking up, she felt like something was missing in her heart. She felt disoriented, almost stumbling as she walked.
Chu Ziluo ran to the bedside, tightly holding Ye Muyu's hand, repeatedly expressing her hope for her mother to wake up.
Chu Heng took two steps, turned back and said "You can talk to your mother. Maybe if she hears you, she'll wake up."
Chu Heng thought that the doctor's words earlier were suggesting that the family members needed to wake up Ye Muyu and encourage her to awaken on her own.
He had to admit that the relationship between the two children and Ye Muyu might be closer than his own. However, when he thought about it, he instinctively didn't want to accept this answer.
Chu Heng carried the bowl out of the room.
After Doctor Lu left, he brought a basin of hot water into the room and used a towel to gently wipe Ye Muyu's hands and feet.
"Dad, Mom's hands are so cold." Chu Ziluo courageously said.
Chu Heng furrowed his brow "Cover them. When your mother stops feeling cold, she'll wake up."
"Really?" Chu Ziluo's eyes widened with joy.
Chu Heng nodded, his voice firm "She will wake up."
It was unclear whether he was saying this for Chu Ziluo to hear or reassuring himself.
Chu Heng continued to wipe Ye Muyu not feeling tired at all. Chu Ziluo stayed by Ye Muyu's side, talking to her.
Soon, it was evening and the sky is getting dark.
Ye Pozi and Ye Zhaoming returned, followed closely by Chu Liushi and Chu Lin.
"Third son, how is Mrs. Ye?" Chu Liushi entered the yard and asked hurriedly.
Chu Heng walked out of the room. "She hasn't woken up yet, but she will."
Hearing that Ye Muyu had not yet awakened, Ye Pozi touched her eyes, patting her thighs and shedding tears. Even the victory in the war couldn't bring her any joy.
"Why is our Lan'er so unlucky, targeted by such a wicked woman?" Ye Pozi lamented.
Chu Liushi was also worried about Ye Muyu. She somewhat agreed with Ye Pozi's words, offering some comfort "Mother-in-law, rest assured. Doctor Lu said Mrs. Ye has great luck and she will definitely wake up."
"Just talked for so long. Go sit in the hall, have some tea. It's too late tonight. You and Ye Zhaoming stay here. You can go back tomorrow."
I'm getting more and more disgusted with the ML...he's saying the heavens compensating him was the original YM dying? He's so self-centered I'm kinda wishing YM would be able to divorce him...
