Chapter 669: Full-level Boss Dressed As a Peasant Girl
The idea of circling around was something Shu Yu had learned from the children. Her eyelids twitched as she stared at the mini cart, unable to find the words to express herself.
"You guys go ahead and play. I won't join in the fun," she said. Seeing the old lady enter the kitchen, Shu Yu followed suit. "Grandmother, can you tell me where my mother and Eldest sister's stall is? I want to go and see how their business is doing."
The old lady placed a sack on the ground. It was filled with mushrooms and wild vegetables they had collected in Zhengdao Village over the past few days. They had dried them at home, but since there was an abundance, they decided to take some to the county town to let others taste them.
In addition, they had a few wild chickens and rabbits that Shu Yu had caught in the mountains. Since they couldn't eat them every day, they occasionally replaced them with fish or pork. As a result, they had some leftover chickens and rabbits. The live ones were being kept, while the dead ones were either air-dried or made into cured meat, which they had also brought back with them.
Upon hearing that Shu Yu wanted to visit Ruan Shi and Da Ya, the old lady immediately clapped her hands and said, "I'll take you there."
"No need, Grandmother. You rest at home for a while. Just tell me the location, and I'll go myself. Besides, I haven't strolled around the streets in a long time."
Upon hearing this, the old lady immediately felt sorry for her. She understood that Shu Yu wanted to enjoy walking and observing things at her own pace. So she agreed, "Alright, you go on your own. Be careful."
With that, she told Shu Yu the location of Ruan Shi and Da Ya's stall.
Shu Yu helped her take out everything from the sack, washed her hands, greeted Da Hu and San Ya who were playing in the courtyard, and then left the house.
At this point, Da Hu and San Ya had switched positions. One was pushing, and the other was sitting in the cart, enjoying themselves to the fullest.
Shu Yu walked out of the house and followed the old lady's instructions to turn right into an alley. The alley wasn't long, and upon exiting, she found herself on the main street.
The location where Ruan Shi and Da Ya were located was two streets away, and it was relatively lively over there.
Shu Yu leisurely walked, looking in the surroundings as she went.
After walking down one street, she suddenly saw a familiar figure ahead.
Wasn't that... Da Ya?
She paused for a moment and quickly walked a few steps to catch up with her.
Da Ya seemed to be holding something in her hand and was walking slowly.
Shu Yu initially followed at a leisurely pace, but then Da Ya's footsteps suddenly became hurried and she seemed a bit flustered. In an instant, she turned a corner.
Shu Yu was taken aback and quickened her pace, rushing after her.
After turning the corner, a gust of wind suddenly struck her face.
Shu Yu reacted swiftly, taking a step back, and looked up to see Da Ya swinging a stick aggressively towards her.
Shu Yu said, "It's me, Sister."
Da Ya froze, her panicked expression immediately freezing. She looked up and saw Shu Yu, her face relaxed, and the stick in her hand fell to the ground.
"Why is it you?" Da Ya took a deep breath and quickly approached her, pulling her hand. "I didn't hit you just now, did I? Are you okay? Did I hurt you?"
"No, I'm fine."
Da Ya held her hand tightly. "That's good, that's good. I thought it was a thief following me, and in a moment of panic, I didn't have time to see clearly who it was. By the way, Ah Yu, why are you here? Aren't you supposed to be in Zhengdao Village?"
