PWDLAW Chapter 133: An Unpleasant Surprise

 Chapter 133: An Unpleasant Surprise

With thick porridge and buns with thin skin and rich fillings, Chu Xing and Chu Ziluo were once again satisfied with their breakfast. Before leaving, Chu Jin couldn't resist taking three buns with him. Ye Muyu thought he might share them with his classmates, so she didn't object. Twenty buns were quickly consumed in the morning. After Chu Jin left, Ye Muyu cleaned up the kitchen. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. Even though the sun hadn't risen yet, someone was already at the door. It was unclear who it might be. Although the villagers started working early due to the busy farming season there were also those who had finished their work. However, this year's farming progress had been unexpectedly slow. The recent presence of thieves forced each family to leave someone behind, delaying their work. Additionally, there was the matter of collecting medicinal herbs. This year's busy farming season had slowed down. Chu Ziluo happened to be in the yard and hearing the knocking, walked over. "Who's there?" Following her mother's advice, she wouldn't open the door without knowing who it was. The voice outside the door responded quickly, "It's me, Tang Rou. Sister-in-law Ye." Chu Ziluo recognized the person but she was curious why Tang Rou or rather Aunt Tang who her mother seemed to dislike, kept coming to visit recently. Chu Ziluo, with her polite nature opened the door cautiously, asking, "How should I address you?" Tang Rou, who was roughly the same generation as her mother, hadn't married so she couldn't be called aunt. Addressing her as a sister-in-law didn't seem fitting either as they weren't of the same generation. Chu Ziluo was genuinely perplexed. There was a momentary pause in the smile on Tang Rou's face. After that brief pause, she smiled more gently. "It's Ziluo, you can call me Auntie. I am your mother's good friend." "No, Auntie is used to address mother's close sisters." Chu Ziluo shook her head, realizing this knowledge she had recently acquired. "You can call me whatever you like. You are my mother's good friend, right?" Something flickered in Tang Rou's eyes for a moment and she responded with a touch of annoyance, "Call me whatever you want. Is your mother at home?" "Mother, someone is looking for you." Chu Ziluo was quite sensitive to the emotional changes in adults. When she felt Tang Rou's impatience she immediately sensed it. Lowering her eyes, she stood at the door without moving and shouted loudly into the kitchen. Seeing Chu Ziluo shouting, Tang Rou immediately understood that Ye Muyu was at home. Without a second thought, Tang Rou tried to enter the house but Chu Ziluo quickly blocked her. "No, you can't come in. My mother hasn't agreed yet." When Ye Muyu walked out, she saw the two of them arguing. Chu Ziluo couldn't stop Tang Rou, who had pushed her aside. Ye Muyu's anger flared up instantly. "Tang Rou, what are you doing? Just because my family has no men, you think you can do whatever you want?" Ye Muyu's voice was cold. Tang Rou hadn't even reacted when Ye Muyu pushed her out without any courtesy. Tang Rou stumbled and nearly fell. Being treated so rudely made her feel her self-esteem was hurt. She angrily said, "Ye Sister, what are you doing? Why did you push me for no reason?" "Why did I push you?" Ye Muyu sneered. "Do you not have any self-awareness? You are a guest. If you have no shame, why should I treat you with courtesy?" "Now, I'll say it in front of everyone. I don't like you and I don't welcome you coming to my house. I let the matter slide when your mother falsely accused me last time. Now you're here bullying my daughter?" Ye Muyu looked at the growing crowd of onlookers. She felt no psychological pressure, on the contrary, Tang Rou seemed anxious. In her heart, she cursed, wondering if this woman had gone mad.
