Chapter 60: After breaking off the engagement Mr. Si chased his wife to the crematorium!
Chapter 60: The Floor is Hard, Can't Sleep
The floor was hard, making it difficult to sleep. The sound of dripping water echoed from the bathroom, casting a tall figure on the glass door.
Ou Yan didn't notice this scene, engrossed in handling private matters on her phone. After a while, she heard the bathroom door open, casually lifting her head.
Si Yechen's hair was wet, dressed in white pajamas, exuding a strong masculine scent from head to toe.
At that moment, Ou Yan's phone rang, displaying a long and unfamiliar number, unlike a regular mobile number.
Her gaze shifted back, calmly answering, "Yes?"
The person on the other end said something. Ou Yan walked to the balcony, "So?"
Not long after, hands embraced her from behind, and Si Yechen's warm breath lightly brushed against her ear, making her inexplicably ticklish.
He affectionately nuzzled the fragrance around her ear, like a clingy cat.
Ou Yan could feel his scalding temperature, especially in a certain area. She spoke to the person on the phone, "I got it, yes, I'll hang up."
"A man?" Si Yechen faintly discerned the voice on the other end of the phone, a male voice, and became somewhat intrigued.
The little girl had just seen him coming out of the shower, her gaze lingering for a second or two. However, when the phone rang, she ignored him, heading straight to the balcony to take the call.
"A friend." Ou Yan didn't know why she needed to explain to him, her tone carrying a hint of helplessness. "Let go."
"What kind of friend?" Si Yechen lifted his head, breathing lightly on her neck, causing an inexplicable sensation.
"Just a regular friend, not important." Ou Yan, for some reason, felt compelled to explain. "Let go."
"What kind of friend? A normal one or an important one?" His actions continued, his voice teasing and provocative.
"Not exactly ordinary."
After all, they had been through life and death together for several years, forming a profound bond.
"So, important?" Si Yechen looked at her, his inviting gaze more intriguing. "More important than me?"
"Si Yechen." Ou Yan tried to break free from his embrace, but he held her tightly. Ou Yan's tone carried a touch of helplessness. "We've only known each other for a few days."
"For me, it feels like years."
His masculine aura, mixed with the unique tenderness towards a girl, blended perfectly. The charm of his strength and gentleness radiated from him, almost overwhelming her.
"I'm thirsty." Ou Yan pushed him away, went inside to pour water, her face inexplicably flushed.
"Where am I sleeping tonight?" Si Yechen followed her, the restlessness not dissipating, but rather intensifying.
"On the bed or on the floor, you choose."
"Bed." Si Yechen looked at her, inviting, "Together."
"You wish!" Ou Yan put down the water cup, realizing there was only one pillow and a small blanket on the bed, and the spacious bedroom lacked even a sofa. She suddenly understood something.
"Then I'll sleep on the floor." Si Yechen sat down, giving her the only blanket and pillow. "I'm not tired; you go ahead."
Now, the lamp emitting a Zen-like atmosphere had run out of power, leaving the entire bedroom in darkness.
Ou Yan lay down under the blanket, vaguely hearing his soft breathing.
Si Yechen sat at the edge of the bed, gently rubbing her hair. "Good night."
Ou Yan's hand was held by him, unknowingly entering dreamland.
Early the next morning, the sound of grooming came from the bathroom, and Ou Yan gradually opened her eyes.
The day was already bright, and the light filtered through the curtains, creating a dreamy atmosphere.
After a while, the grooming sounds stopped, and a figure walked out. "Awake?"
She sat on the bed, soft long hair falling on her shoulders. Her innocent and adorable appearance made him unconsciously lift the corners of his lips, his gaze gentle.
"Why didn't you sleep a little longer?" He was still wearing the white pajamas from last night, but the masculine scent blending with the usual noble and aloof aura created an irresistible charm.
Seeing him approaching step by step, Ou Yan got off the bed, speaking casually, "I have to go to work in a while."
As she took a step forward, her foot suddenly kicked something.
It was the male pajamas left over from last night, casually rolled into a pillow by Si Yechen and placed on the floor. Did he really sleep on the cold floor all night?
Ou Yan felt an indescribable emotion, whether it was guilt or unease.
At the dining table, Grandpa Si smiled as he looked at the two early risers. They seemed so well-matched!
He happily said, "Why didn't you sleep a little longer?"
"The floor is hard, couldn't sleep."
Si Yechen's words made Grandpa Si and steward Wen look at each other. With such a perfect opportunity last night, how could this blockhead be so chivalrous to sleep on the floor?!
"Isn't there a bed?" Grandpa Si felt a bit frustrated in his heart. Couldn't he just lie down? Did he need this old man to teach him?
"The bed was given to me." Ou Yan raised her gaze. "Was the door fixed in the morning?"
"Ah? Yes..." Grandpa Si felt a bit guilty. In fact, he had someone open it with a key at dawn, not sure if his daughter-in-law noticed.
"Oh, I didn't hear any noise." Ou Yan sat down, eating breakfast nonchalantly, seemingly not pursuing the matter.
"Yan Yan, weren't you scared by the power outage last night? Grandpa doesn't know what happened to the power supply equipment! Grandpa can assure you that it won't happen again when you come next time."
"Oh, it's okay." Ou Yan had known his conspiracy, not exposing it.
Watching this sensible and obedient girl, Grandpa Si couldn't help feeling a surge of anger towards this wooden-headed grandson. He didn't know how to seize such a good opportunity!
After breakfast, Si Yechen sent Ou Yan to work.
steward Wen watched them leave, took out a girl's bag, "Old Master, the young lady forgot her bag."
He could have reminded her just now, but for the sake of the young master having an excuse to return the bag to the young lady later, he pretended not to see it.
He spoke only after they left, "Very good!" Grandpa Si didn't expect Old Wen to be so clever, satisfied. "Later, let Ah Chen send it to her. It's another chance to meet..."
"Old Master, for the young master's marriage, you've really put in a lot of effort."
"I'm not..." Grandpa Si looked in the direction they left, "After last night, I don't know if Yan Yan is willing to come to me... Will she see through my plan?"
"Last night was at most a coincidence. Madam is so simple; she shouldn't think in other directions..."
"I hope so!" Grandpa Si thought, if the little girl didn't come again, he could only pretend to be sick later... sigh, for the sake of his ungrateful grandson, it's really difficult!
